Horse encounter x Explore

"Uhm, hello, sir?", you hear a subdued, shaky voice call out. "I'm sorry to bother you, but, please, hear me out! I need help!" The voice belongs to a young stallion, who walks up to you, legs slightly shaking and scared tears starting to well up in his eyes. "Y-yesterday, I was attacked by a werehorse. He was about to kill me, but I managed to get away by making a deal with him. He-he said that... if I managed to hunt something for him until tomorrow sundown - this evening - he would spare my life. B-but I'm only a horse, and I don't know what to do... I'm s-so scared, I don't want to d-die! Please, sir, you need to help me!"

 1. You refuse. There's no way you'll help some random stranger kill something.
 2. You help him. He looks so terrified, not helping him would be heartless.
 3. You won't help him hunt, but you're not going to just let him die either. You tell him that you'll protect him from that werehorse, and that you will figure out a different way instead.

The sun's rays were hitting the grasslands below, as it was now the start of the afternoon. Rikvidr’s large form was resting underneath a beautiful oak tree, his eyes slightly open to watch his colt run around by himself. ‘He really needed some playmates’ Rik thought to himself, as he was trying to catch some rest after being so upset with the fact those mares, again, denied him. Although, he knew they’d see him walking around with his colt again. Honestly, nothing could be better than this – he wasn’t exactly alone anymore, and neither was Conarii. Apart from Conarri’s giggles, the silence was soothing. It gave Rik time to go over a plan, or at least he believed he had a plan. He needed to leave Holt, especially when this was just his hide away spot for now. He knew eventually, he’d have to travel to Beorg again. He needed to travel there to find out of his father had moved from Beorg, since the clan spoke about migrating before Rikvidr was… ‘forcibly removed’ from the clan. He missed his home and partly wished that Conarii could see it. Maybe he could see the camp ground from far away.

The feeling of a smaller mare bushing her head against the stallion's side brought him back into the real world. Rik's glazed eyes had fallen onto Sirpa, a mare who was unique coat as well as her personality. The mare was also watching over the colt, adopting a some sort of motherly role for the colt. They were all full of apples, and now the food coma was kicking in; both mare and stallion fighting against it. The small mare's coat was laying on the ground and so were her fake ram horns, as body heat and comfort was more beneficial than having to lay with horns pushing into Rik's side. It had been a few hours since he had claimed Sirpa to join him on his journey, which made him really happy. Nothing could be better than this.. "Uhm, hello, sir?" a stallion. Rik stood up, and looked as from across the small amount of shade that Rikvidr had been laying in was a Graying Gold Champagne Dun, with the most glassiest eyes he had ever seen.

“Conarii, to me!” The stallion spoke, his Beorgian accent breaking through for just a moment, like a voice crack. Sirpa stood up quickly staying beside Rik as the stranger equine made his way into the clearing. The colt looked up to see the rouge stallion but listened to Rik, running to him and standing under him when the stallion was fully on his hooves. Rikvidr’s eyebrows narrowed as the stallion came ever so closer. "I'm sorry to bother you, but, please, hear me out! I need help!" Rik’s ears swivelled as he listened to the stallion’s cry. As the rouge stallion came closer, Rik noticed how shaken up he was. Tears starting to stream and his legs shaking like no tomorrow. Whatever scared this stallion must have gotten the better of him. Rik decided to listen, as Conarii moved beside Sirpa to try and protect himself; the mare immediately complying as she stood in front of the colt.

"Y-yesterday, I was attacked by a were-horse," The stallion blabbered as he came closer, his head lowering over the towering Rikvidr. Rik was utterly concerned, werehorse? But werehorses were foal stories, especially on the spookiest night of the year. Surely this wasn't a real thing... surely. The stallion had his doubts until he stared deep into the mixed stallion's eyes. There was real fear in his eyes as the stallion continued. "He was about to kill me, but I managed to get away by making a deal with him." Rik's ears twitched as he heard that the stallion made a deal with a werehorse, his audits flicked back. He didn't want to get his family into this mess but continued listening for the sake of it. He-he said that... if I managed to hunt something for him until tomorrow sundown - this evening - he would spare my life," The stallion moved even closer, lowering himself into a bowing position. Rikvidr took a step closer, as Sirpa and Conarri stayed behind him.  "B-but I'm only a horse, and I don't know what to do... I'm s-so scared, I don't want to d-die! Please, sir, you need to help me!"

Rik watched as the stallion sobbed out of pure fear, his body continuing to shake. The large lead stallion looked back towards his group, who seemed uneasy until Sirpa gave him a nod - an accepting nod. He smiled a little at her before back at the stranger stallion. "What's your name kid?" Rik asked, his voice gruff but interested sounding. The smaller stallion looked up to him, his eyes still glassy as anything. The stranger stallion swallowed thickly. "...Jaecar.."

"Jaecar,"
Rikvidr started, his eyes staring deeply at the sobbing stallion's form, a decision coming to his head in that moment. "You're not hunting anything this afternoon-" Rik was cut off with scrambling of pleads and whimpers of pure fear. Rik stamped his hoof on the ground, to tell the stallion to hush without being rude to him. His family stood back a little, shocked to see the stallion get slightly irritated. Jaecar stopped and watched Rik, seeing the stallion seemed fed up. "Let me finish." Rik spoke, his head lifting up to look at the dead trees around them who seemed to have died a long time ago. "As I was saying, you're not hunting anything and neither am I. But," Rik stopped himself to take a breath, before looking back at the greying gold champagne stallon. "I'm not going to let you die either. What I am going to do is protect you when this werehorse comes around, and hopefully we can figure something else instead or at least come to an agreement."

Jaecar was silent for a moment, before a smile appeared on his face; tears trickling again. The golden stallion moved to him and embraced Rik, nuzzling into his chest as a thankyou. Rik had turned red in the face as he looked towards his group. Conarii was smiling widely, at the idea that they were going to look for a werehorse while Sirpa smirked. It seemed like Sirpa had an idea that Rik wasn't exactly... 'straight'. "Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou mister!" Was all came from Jaecar, as he pulled away from Rik. Jaecar managed to look back at Rik's group, eyeing the fact he only had a mare and a young colt. He smiled at them before moving away from them a little.

"Follow me! I'll lead you to where the werehorse was when I c-came across him!" Jaecar soon started to walk, with Conarri starting to follow and soon, Sirpa. Rik made sure to follow, as he was the one getting his group into this sort of trouble. He hoped he could get a good outcome, and maybe, hit two birds with one stone; claiming two new herd memebers. As Rik walked after Jaecar, he heard the voice of Sirpa as she smirked.

"You and I are going to talk about what happened with Jaecar." Her voice seemed to be teasing as he laughed at her words.

"It's nothing, Sirpa."

"Looked more than nothing to me, Rik. You're attracted."

"...Shut up."
Spoke the very flustered stallion. Rikvidr knew then and there, Sirpa was right at home with him and hopefully, she felt the same. His heart races for her, and secretly, her heart was the same for her lead.

Friendly Encounter

Above you, you hear a scared sounding mew. You look up, and spot a bobcat, covering on a tree branch. After a few seconds, it notices that you're looking at it. It gives you a quick glance, before staring up at the treetops again, as if just looking down would draw him off the only thing that kept him from falling too... well, not exacly falling to his death. You're pretty sure that that bobcat could land on it's paws - cats can do that, right? - and, frankly, that branch he's sitting on isn't even that high up. But still the tailless feline looks like he'd rather starve up there than jump.
"Uhm... He-Hello", the bobcat says nervously, catsting you another quick glance. "Y-You may w-w-wonder how I've gotten up here. W-well. I, uh, I kinda tried to c-catch a s-squirrel and f-f-f-fortgot that I was s-scared of heights... ...C-could you maybe help me get d-down?"

 1. It's his own fault he got stuck up there! Either starve or jump, cat!
 2. You try to talk the bobcat into climbing down.
 3. Time to fell that tree! If we can't get cat down, we will get tree down!

Side Quest

Jaecar leads you to the place where his confrontation with the werehorse took place, his legs becoming shakier and weaker with every step he takes. When the four of you step into a clearning, he stops, eyeing his environments warily for a few moments, before quietly declaring: "We are here. This is where I last saw him." The clearing looks exacly like the place were you would imagine to meet a werewolf in. The outline of the clearing is marked by dead, old oaks and ragged fir trees, casting shadows too dark for anything other than moss to grow. And in those shadows, you suddenly see something move. You hear twigs crunching under slow, lurking steps, and for a tiny second, you think you see a pair of brigthly glowing eyes stare at you from inbeween the trees. Could that be the werehorse that attacked Jaecar?

 1. You stay were you are, waiting for whatever is lurking behind those trees to appear.
 2. You dash towards the trees, hooves ready to kick, without a second thought! Better than waiting for it to attack first, right!?
 3. You call out to, supposedly, the werehorse, telling it that you're here to negotiate. Maybe if you handle this peacefully you'll have another herdmember when this is over?
