Few girls represent more of a contrast between their public and private personas than Connie Tse. By day a mild mannered and totally unassuming graduate student at a major Southern California university, Connie spends as many nights as possible at raves and festivals. She loves Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and the freedom associated with its culture. Her parents, already unhappy with her decision to eschew med school in favor of a slightly less soul crushing career in public health, have no idea that their daughter is an absolute wild child. Then again, neither do any of the students in the sections she leads. Connie has carefully crafted a persona amongst her peers and students as a meek, nerdy, adorable graduate student whose most exciting features are her purple highlights and the rumored tattoo on her shoulder. Little do they know that while she's teaching them about humane and useful drug policy, she's also got firsthand experience with proper medical protocols on how to treat an overdose.

While her parents expect her to move back home to Memphis after she finishes school, Connie has other plans. Things have gotten more serious with her boyfriend of 3 years and Conne envisions a life here in Southern California after she finishes grad school. She's also not looking forward to her overprotective and very traditional parents spending extensive amounts of time with her overprotective and decidedly nontraditional boyfriend. Though she may appreciate his pet names, she doubts her parents will enjoy hearing how she's "a geek on the streets and a freak in the sheets." As true as that might be. But Connie parties, studies and fights as hard as her body will let her. After all, she'll only get to live through her twenties once.

While her students see one side of her, the other students in the Wushu club probably have a hard time imagining the curvy, tattooed risk taker as a quiet, modestly dressed teaching assistant. Connie gravitated towards traditional Chinese martial arts as a way to chase thrills without upsetting the sensibilities of her traditional parents. That love of wushu and kung fu and traditional martial arts has long since bloomed into an infatuation with western styles like kickboxing and MMA, and Connie is a brawler in her own right. She's unofficially adopted Kathy Liu as her little sister and though the two don't always see eye to eye, their friendship has gradually developed as Kathy has taken martial arts more seriously. Connie has good timing, surprising power in her legs, and a willingness to take risks on offense and defense. She may not succeed at everything she attempts, but you'll never say she was afraid to try it. This thrill seeker is always up for a new experience or a new source of adrenaline. So when Kathy mentioned fighting on camera, clothing optional, sex encouraged, Connie almost smacked her for not thinking of and inviting her first.

The question is, as it's always been, is seeing who can keep up with her.
