Description
The bittersweet trip to the same auction location as where Sitala had been sold was beginning. This particular auction was a bit less shady than Sitala's though there were multiple meat buyers hoping to get a few unwanted horses. The horses here actually for the most part had some papers if registered and some records if raced. The program listed all the horses to be auctioned. Jake pointed one finger on a thoroughbred in the mares section, having been looking over Shelby's shoulder.
"I vote we try for her," Jake said simply, looking at Shelby expectantly. The mare was described as "small but competitive, raced successfully until the age of four and a half."
Shelby rolled her eyes, despite liking the mare. When the bidding began she was fought over by meat buyers, a tentative shady looking horse dealer and well, Shelby. She became our's for a mere $500.
