Basajuan - Cousin - 'Unca Juan' - A great huge bizarre stag that he likes to gnaw on the tail of. Unca Juan has the most amazing hair, and Herne has made a point to try and style his own spiky baby mane similarly.
Nana Leto (NPC) - Juan's Dam - A very odd doe of great age, and a plethora of stories that never end.

Personality – Since this little guy is just a baby, it’s extremely likely he’ll grow and change as he ages, gaining more preferences, prejudices, hobbies, and interests as he goes!

Strengths: Honest, Curious, Bright, Humble, Generous, Extremely slow to anger, Very Creative.

Weaknesses: Slightly unhinged, perfectionist, dervish, Addicted: Sugar (Honey, sugary fruits) , Very Creative.

Herne is a very bright little buck, with curiosity and generiosity to spare. He is attentive to the needs and wants of those around him, sensitive and kind like his mother. Herne tends towards perfectionism and obsesses over having things 'right.' His definition of 'right' can be a little skewed, and as such, his future home when he becomes of the age to leave his Mamoo, is more than a little bizarre in its decorative tastes - who would have guessed that strings of such flammable things as herbs could create curtains? Athletic despite his DEEP love of sweet things and subsequent chub, Herne is not an inactive fawnling despite his portly roundness...even as a tiny babe he would go on adventures, seeking out the source of noises or rustling grass. More than a few times, he's recieved either stings or bites to the nose, thanks to his curious nature.

Like most individuals, Herne has many facets which will show more and more as he ages. As for now, the little buck seems to have both darkness and light within him. Sweetness and calm, paired with a different side that very few have seen. When his slow temper flares, burning fast and bright like the flames that soak within the blood of his herd, he is a dervish, a wild ball of angry flame that will devour anything in his path. Given, he is just a tiny buckling right now, and his tantrums have mainly been about not getting what he wants when he wants it, not involving the flame of his future. A glutton for his Mamoo's milk, and any honeycomb or sweet treat he may be able to get a hold of, he often stomps his tiny hooves and squeals angrily when denied.

Appearance:

Herne is a bit of a round dumpling since he was given his first taste of his Mamoo's rich milk and his first licks of honeycomb, and has been keeping the weight on ever since. With a sturdy frame, long legs, and a finely constructed head, his brown eyes look even bigger in his gorgeous little face than one would expect...he also looks a bit like a marshmallow sitting on four toothpicks with his pale body and darker legs. He has a tendency towards fluff, with the first signs of hair growing in already on his chest, and heels in little sprouts. His mane and tail are already showing the first sighs of likely being rather luxurious when fully grown, though are mostly sulky soft little floofs at the moment.

This tiny buckling has very few scars...a few nicks on his muzzle, a tiny round scar on his left inner ankle from a 'plant bite' as he calls it. Herne always carries a sprig of herbs tucked just behind his right ear, the ends tangled in his mane for good luck. This includes a number of tiny blue dried flowers, and what looks like a few sprigs of rosemary, or some small stemmed evergreen that has mostly dried. This piece does have the tendency to lose needles, which are littered through Herne's rather long mane as he ages.

History:
Herne has an origin shrouded in mystery, or at least in the sense as to his parentage. While the world and Felina seem to agree that the little dappled buck was sired by Ruibh, the unusual coloration and specific traits of his mane and lack of roan seem to hint at other origins.

Nonetheless, a well spoiled and fat baby, Herne never seemed lacking for anything in his life. Be if food, cuddles, or company, he was given it. Unca Juan's dam, Leto, an elderly doe with a penchant for giving away treats, thoroughly enjoyed spoiling the little fawn with honeyed fruits until the baby more resembled a rolypoly ball of chub than a true fawnling...or a future solider with aspirations towards General-hood as the little buck had often proclaimed he was destined to be.

It was at the knee of Leto that he learned of the great lords of Glenmore. How powerful and beautiful they were, how they could travel freely though the black woods and were well known to love gorgeous pale golden does with long pale manes and tails. From her, he learned that they fought for a true King that was strong, honest and loyal...not so much like their own, the cranky old doe would snap, only to be shushed by Esti or Juan. These grand stories, poured into the mind of such an impressionable youth were the stuff of dreams, and as he learned and listened, he vowed one day to be a Lord, to be strong and proud, and to be able to travel and see the world in all its glory.

Long fawn-hood days were spent playing with his friends, gamboling about and pretending to be a strong noble lord with flowing locks and goodly ideals. Unca Juan did not help his fantasies, the muscular stag feeding into the ideals he had already had ingrained in his mind - be brave, fight for those who would hurt those weaker than himself and always protect the herd. Juan, despite his normal conceited and obnoxious mein, actually helped the young buck grow in confidence, supporting him through the teasing and remarks about his weight, and lack of golden coat colouring. Instilling the idea that be could do anything he put his mind to, no matter what be looked like was the core of Juan's support. Given, he then left the little buckling with a series of exercises that would aid him in maybe slimming down a bit, he had nonetheless planted a very definite seed of growth.

The future is Herne's oyster. Anything could come about, good or bad, and it remains to be seen if the fat little buck will ever know the turth of his parentage. At the moment, he is content merely to have Mamoo, Ruru, Ninny and Unca Juan in his life.
