It reminds me of a little friend,we used to tear up pieces of roti (a flat bread) and placed on our window sill in kitchen for the little female squirrel to take to her nest.and she used to tear up our cleaning rags to make nest for her children.i miss my little friend.you have made a brilliant piece of art. 😊

Thank you. I love squirells. I have one that comes on my balconny and I leave water, crushed walnuts from our tree and sometimes bread. I have called him Mr Nibbles.

You somehow make all your animals smile and look joyful! That takes talent and a positive energy!

I do like this one, you have really captured something in those eyes. The lady next door has about three squirrels living in her tree at the back. Last year one died in our garden, so sad - and my cats were investigating the body. It vanished soon after that and I honestly don't know whether they ate it or a fox ate it. I have a young very adventurous and hungry tabby, who will eat almost anything, so maybe he started on it! Don't think he would eat a whole squirrel though!

Thanks Shelley, I just love red squirrels we see lots of them here flitting through the trees or running over the gardens so cute. Are the ones in your area red or grey? The grey ones are much bigger and have taken over in parts of England purely because they are much bigger and eat more, leaving nothing left for the smaller red ones.
Maybe your cats didn´t eat the creature though Crows and Magpies are partial to a bit of meat now and again that´s nature for you nothing goes to waste

They are grey. I like both red and grey but can't remember seeing any red for a long long time. You are right about the birds - we have loads of magpies. Very bold - who have eaten left over cat meat (which I sometimes have when the cats are fussy) mind you the pigeons seem to eat anything nowdays too!

My friend who lives next to a small woods has seen magpies raiding a squirrels nests and stealing and eating their young. They can´t be any bigger than baby mice when first born, sounds dreadful I know but they have to eat too I suppose or have young to feed

I didn't know that. They are such large birds and fairly intimidating I guess it would be easy for them. That's so sad especially when you think of the distress it must cause the mother, but as you say it's survival.

After raising 3 gray squirrels, I can't see a squirrel picture without feeling nostalgic. Beautiful job--- I miss that look.
