Description

So as I'm sure most of you know by now, Harold Ramis, known as a writer/director on films such as Caddyshack, National Lampoon's Vacation and Groundhog Day and probably best know for his role as Dr Egon Spengler in both Ghostbusters films, passed away this Monday.

I (as I'm sure lots of people did) grew up with these movies and Ghostbusters is a film that means a lot to me. I loved it as a kid and I still love it now. And it wasn't until I got older that I really started to appreciate Ramis's work in the film. It's easy to get overshadows in a movie with Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Rick Moranis in it but his deadpan delivery and fascination of all things slimy makes Egon such a memorable presence on screen.

So rest in peace Mr Ramis. We'll miss you.

This clip is from the very underrated Ghostbusters II.

Farewell to a truly inspirational filmmaker, and the actor who first played our favorite ghost-busting egghead, Egon Spengler. He's busting ghosts on the other side now.

Why do good actors die and the ones who've overstayed their welcome or aren't funny survive?

*Cough cough* Adam Sandler *cough cough* Oh excuse me.

But yeah I agree. I mean we already lost Uncle Phil/Shredder last year, we don't need to lose anymore.
