Description
39 years since the official end of World War II, the biggest conflict in 20th century. Now, the world is not what it was before. Soviet Union and the United States quickly rises as the new superpowers, competing the aging British superpower. The superpowers divided the world for themselves, in Warsaw, a steel wall was built under the permission of Stalin, Poland is divided, Germany economy plummeted, France and Britain was left to rule most of Western Europe.

The Soviets knows that they have small gains only in Europe, and would not stand a chance against France and Britain especially since they've started to develop nuclear weapons. They strengthened what they gained by forming the Bucharest Pact, commonly called the Eurasian Pact. The Soviet Union saw a great opportunity in the Asia-Pacific to spread its influence. During Chinese Civil War, the Soviets provided full assistance to the Communist Party, until an armistice along the Yangtze River temporarily halted the bloody Civil War. In the end, Communist China won the Civil War, with the Republic of China limited only to have Taiwan, Hainan, Hong Kong, and Macau.

The United States focused its attention on the new frontier, the Japanese Federation was formed as a counter to P.R. China, the Republic of China was fully supported by America, and formally began the Cold War between the American-led Alliances and the Soviet Union-led Pacts. Iron curtains stand in both hemispheres. To ensure the new China remained in their grasp, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union began to intervene over Chinese politics. They don't want their only strong ally to turn their backs on the alliance they've formed. As a result, for decades the relations of the Soviet Union and China are still well formed. Think of it as an extension of the Soviet hand in spreading its influence in Asia. The United States formed NATO and APDC as a counter, strengthening its influence in Southeast Asia through the British Dominion in Orientia.

The British Empire has lost its old glory, but it is still very influential in world politics. The Royal Navy and Royal Army often intervened in Socialist-based insurgencies in Africa as well as in Asia. Its ability to project power on 3 continents makes it still considered a superpower, although it is clear its position will be shifted. The Commonwealth was formed in the 1950s to strengthen the relationship with its dominions and its former colonies. Meanwhile Europe is cleaning up and in the process of recovering from the Second World War. In 1950, France formed the European Economic Community as well as the French Union to strengthen its ties with its former African colonies as well as its European Allies. Meanwhile, Germany, neutral for nearly a decade, began to show its teeth, its economy skyrocketed and Democratic reforms are underway. This ended in Germany's entry into NATO and the EEC at once, making continental power shift to Germany. France itself has already focused its country's interests towards its former colonies in West Africa, given that the Soviet Union has begun trying to "invest" in african countries by supporting Communist-based separatists and Communist governments.

In 1984, tensions between the West and the East were now inevitable. The Soviet Union weakened in Europe and the policy of autonomy on Pact members in Eastern Europe made matters worse. While in Asia, China's influence is increasingly felt. The economy of the Socialist Republic of Korea already rivals Taiwanese economy, the Socialist Republic of Java continues to threaten the democratic government in Medan as well as Orientia to the South, and North Vietnam already showed the signs of Vietnam War 2.0, not to mention that India also becoming "more pro-Soviet" for "unknown reasons", and becoming closer and closer to the East. The United States feared this, and starts to put some high-yield nuclear weapons on West Poland and Taiwan, marks the beginning of the Continental Missile Crisis, as a reverse to what the Soviets did in Venezuela to threaten American soil back in 1963. With the Soviets now are weakening, and it's economy keep decreasing, will there be a chance for Soviet Union to win this Cold War? Or, this is all just a nonsense and we cannot accept the fact that the world would end within minutes. Well, future is in our hands...

This is the follow-up on my ELTD based WW2 Scenario . Oh yeah also this one is actually a scrap back then in November, but I decided to finish it with a little edit.
