Description Woah, it's been a long time since the last deviation..
And now I'll present to you the *sigh* new and (I hope is) the last revised version of ELTD
I thought adding Atlantis into the map just change the course of history forever. It'll also affect on the European climate, and will be important divergence in the age of explorations, thus I decided to delete them from the map.

Zealandia remains, and huge point divergence it's actually in about 17th century or so, but the divergence remains in Oceania with the rest of the world just doing fine.

MAJOR TURNING POINTS
And then the First World War come. Orientia (Zealandia) being a British Dominion volunteered in the war especially in Gallipoli Campaign which turned out to be a successful one (this is the overall PoD), the tide of the war quickly turns as Russo-British troops arrived at Constantinople. With Ottoman Empire falls, Austria-Hungary disintegrated, and the German Empire tired of fighting the war is over by early 1917, a few month before the Russian "Red" Rebellion (OTL Russian Revolution albeit much smaller one). While Russia is in turmoil, they can't handle Constantinople by themselves so the city is handed over to the British and later is administered as Free City.

The war brought devastating effects on world economies. The Great Depression in 1920's bring Russia into a new era of Reformation along with the establishment of the First Republic, now monarchy has no more power, and they allowed to go into exile in Britain. The military itself is also significantly improved and proven with the Russian re-annexation of Finland which turned to be a brutal occupation. Meanwhile Germany dismembered, split between German Republic, Rhineland, and Austria-Bavaria under the terms of Versailles Treaty. Soon, fascism will rise. Adolf Hitler, an antisemitic former Corporal led DNVP in Germany to slowly influencing the Imperial Reichstag after a violent civil war against Communist Revolutionaries. Europe takes a deep breath once more as the second World War came.

The Second World War is arguably the same war as before, with more advanced weaponry and tactics, Hitler now act as Chancellor uses Blitzkrieg tactics to overrun Hungarian forces and forced them to join Axis. A campaign in the balkan is eventually succeed. The Western Front remains static as Germany and Austria focuses it's efforts on the Eastern Front. The two country then unites under Greater Germany. As the Germans invaded, the Russians disintegrated. Being modernized however, still had incompetent generals and thus fraction is happened between the Russian Republic's militaries, with the People's Army or Liberationist under Georgy Zhukov being the dominant and leading the other white army after the centralized army fractured. Later on, the United Army is formed as an alternative offered by each military leaders to remain steadfast against Germany and retakes Moscow.

China, filled with exiled Russian Communist from the last and failed rebellion, slowly turned Socialist. Mao Zedong never formed the CCP and joined the Army instead, there's no ongoing civil war between KMT and CCP once the Pacific War began. This resulted in a much more unified China and was able to defend itself against the Japanese aggressions, particularly proven at the Battle of Shanghai. In the meantime, Japan also launch it's attack at European Southeast Asian colonies, including the American Philippines, dragging the United States into the war.

The war in Europe stagnates. Germany already conquered Paris, but many Frenchmen just didn't want to surrender. The fight still on, and Battles of Paris is one of the crucial battles of the Second World War. But with Russia eventually unites under the military-controlled Russian State, the tide of the war started to change. As the Germans starve and it's equipments and troops in Russia effectively freeze by the winter, a big offense its commenced by the Russians. At the same time, late 1943, Paris is retaken, Moscow is recaptured by the United Army in April of 1945, and British landings in Norway prove that the tide turns in favor of the Allies.

American War against Japan mainly based on sea. With a less proper Navy, the USN was defeated in the first battles of the Pacific Wars including First Battle of Midway, but with massive industrialization, the US is able to recover it's early lost fleet and eventually scored it's own comeback. Meanwhile, Orientian troops starts their island-hopping campaign in Insulindia and later reconquered Singapore in the mid 1945. MacArthur then landed on Philippines by August 1945, the same month as the British dropped two atomic bombs above Stuttgart at 20th, and Leipzig in 26th (more story to come). The war in Europe still present until September 19th 1945, when Germany finally signed the instruments of surrender. Meanwhile, the war on Pacific continues until Philippines is fully conquered by the US in September, and the subsequent invasion of Japan by a coalition of Chinese, British (mainly Orientians and Indians), and the American forces in October but halted due to harsh weather.

On January the 5th, the Americans dropped their first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, completely obliterating the Japanese morale until the last instruments of surrender is signed at February 2nd, 1946. The Second World War has officially ended.

The world is now free of any militarist regime as well as fascist regime and its actions.... Or not.

THE FRAGILE ALLIANCE
As the Second World War ended, the world is divided. Europe in particular. Remember the Russian State? After the war they reintegrating the former Russian Republic into the so called Russian Social-Federative Republic or some says Second Russian Republic, an authoritarian, mainly socialist, and militarist state. The Western Europeans aware of this and forms its own alliance to counter the ever growing Russian influence. The increasingly authoritarian Russia is now involved in a Cold War against the Western Entente of Britain and France. Germany is split between two after the German Civil War which became one of the main factor of the the Russo-Western split.

Meanwhile United States is busy carving up the carcass of former European Empires in Asia. Dutch and British efforts in recolonization was condemned by the Americans and caused disunity between the US Sphere of Influence and the Western Imperialists. Above all is the US alliance with China, a now powerful country which not democratic at all. The Democratic Republic of China (as it is called) is an authoritarian democracy led by Chiang Kai-Shek and actively supports independence movements across South and Southeast Asia, even reaching as far as Africa and Middle East. This behaviour however caused the fragile, Insulindian Federation to fall apart. The legitimate successor of the government then formed East Insulindia as Sumatra, Java, and Borneo is slowly consumed by State of Nusantara, a socialistic nationalist movement that runs the country in horrific manner.

Another Civil War that is Insulindia, also caused distrust between two allies of United States and China, and would likely led to an end of their alliance. A split that will turned into a full cold war once the new millennium passed, at least that's what the news said. Meanwhile, atomic age is present. The world experiences massive change in technology. Computer is founded, nuclear reactors are everywhere, even the very expensive nuclear cars is sold commercially, with limited quantity.

And there's technological race between the four powers of Britain, United States, Russia, and China. The British put the first man on the orbit, meanwhile America launches the first manmade satellite, the Russians soon followed with first unmanned rocket capable of reaching the moon. A joint British-American mission is commenced in late 1969, with possible moon landing in 1971 or 1972.

In Eastern Europe, tensions rise. With both maintaining its Eastern Puppets as well as commencing a space race against the West, caused Russian economy in downturn. People of Russian Autonomy of Poland starts their rally to achieve independence, supported by the French. Meanwhile, Russian nuclear silos in Poland is threatened by this particular independence movement, so they move their nuclear arsenal closer to East Germany and Czechoslovakia. The West realizes and in turned placed a ton of airbases, military camps, naval fleet, and most importantly, Medium-Range Ballistic Missile system alongside the bloc border. An open border conflict that will probably lead to a nuclear exchange almost happened due to some incidental shootings, but cooler heads prevailed and the conflict winds down, waiting to be restarted one day.

In East Asia, the conflict is limited as proxy wars. Indochina conflicts involves France as the colonial power, various independence movements supported by China, and the US in the end as mediator. South Cambodia is eventually given independence by the French as a democratic regime, and it's infrastructure fully supported by the US. Meanwhile Cochinchina remains French possession and there's no signs that the French will give them up to independence movement groups, hostilities do still exist. Meanwhile in Insulindia, the war continues as it is since 1962, the western State of Nusantara is gaining a lot of land in Borneo, and there's no clear sign of ending. Meanwhile the Republican troops is focused more on Java, and it's intentions to retake Jakarta. The Americans and ironically, the British (through their dominion of Orientia) fully supported the Republican campaign on Java. By the time, the Battle of Yogyakarta had lasted for about 1 month and it shows no signs of ending.

POLITICAL SITUATION

WESTERN EUROPEAN ENTENTE
Britain is doing well, it's one of the superpower of the world although there's the signs of "retirement" due to rapid American advancement. The United Kingdom still rules the seven seas and it's trade route, alongside with its dominions, states that has a close and tight relationship with London, and still recognizes the Queen of England as their monarch. Effectively an independent state, each of Dominions still or partially influenced by the Commonwealth and it's military largely run by London, although this might change soon.

France is a Republic with an Empire. The formation of French Union or Francophonie certainly did it well. Federations of States in West Africa and Equatorial Africa is formed and effectively a French puppet in general. Unlike the British, France has power in terms of continental forces, largest in Europe if you exclude the massive Army of Russia, and has an exclusive held as well as superiority in the Mediterranean Sea. And there's the European Union which certainly a French product with a little British financial sparkle on it. It's an effective Union, think of it more than European Economic Community, but more of a Union actually with even a shared military. The second power of the Union is the West Germany. Did well after WW2, the Second Republic of Germany, that based on Hamburg, has now reinforced full-force rebuilding and became an economic powerhouse besides France.

THE ROARING AMERICAN EAGLE
The United States is a raising powerhouse. It has been an economic superpower since the beginning of 20th century. It industrialised quickly, and has the military expanded. The United States is focused on the Pacific and has an influence over Central and Northern South America, and with recently, Chile, that being concerned about the weird Russian-supported socialist movement in Peru. Its East Asian Allies meanwhile are doing much well. Japanese Federation, a state formed in 1949, is now the second largest economy in Asia excluding Russia and Dominion of India. Still has conflicts with China and the northern Republic of Hokkaido.

The US also launches a massive Marshall Plan-like program on its Eastern and Pacific Allies recently. In contrast of its Chinese counterpart, the more democratic regimes of Asia is incredibly wealthy and prosperous thanks to these infrastructure, military, and economic aid. Additionally the US aso has its Central American allied states, Cuba, and Haiti which effectively an American puppet states.

THE EASTERN RUSSIAN GROUP
Russia is an authoritarian, military-run regime. It is also being a highly socialist state due to the fraction in WW2, bringing the second rise of communist ideals in Russian populace, and effectively gained more popular as the new Russian State is formed. It has Autonomy Regions in Poland, Central Asia, and the Caucasus which basically administered by the military and in reality, has only little autonomy.

The Eastern European Group is a Russian playground, and the government varies. From the monarchical Greece to National police state of Romania and Hungary and federations such as Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia. Additionally there's "National Republics" of which are essentially Russian puppets such as East Germany, Bulgaria, and Finland. Finland is somewhat different, as Russia didn't assimilate them as Autonomous Region after the Russian invasion in late 1944, but rather set up a puppet government. As a result, Finland is more tightly connected with Moscow than any Eastern European states.

In late 1968, Moscow had showed the signs of decline as it began to loosening it's relationships with EEG, and with Poland continues to be restless for Russian military, it seems that the Cold War between East and West will be over soon.

THE RISING CHINESE DRAGON
Since its split from the Americans, China has now run their economy independently and is certainly a challenge to the new nation whilst competing with the already established powers such as Britain, United States, and even Russia. They have the biggest army in the continental Eurasia, second only to the Russian Army, and has a decent equipment left behind by the United States. It has learned the reverse engineering technique that actually helped them in order to make their own indigenous military equipments.

As an alternative to the US's Pacific Defense Compact, China formed the Shanghai Pact of Cooperation between former Indochina nations, Republic of Hokkaido, and the Democratic Republic of Korea, a state which run by a bunch of Chinese generals. By 1969, the Chinese economy soared over the stagnating Russian one and now placed as the third-largest economy in the world behind the United Kingdom. Many international scholars believes at one point of time, this Sino-American split could turned into a full-sized (worldwide) Cold War.

As for its outer allies, China has a little of them, notably Thailand, and Northern Cambodia which acted as an observer state of the SPC. There's the State of Nusantara, a national-socialist (yes that's right) state that really embraces social equality, even if that means commiting a genocide on your own population. There's Somalia, which hated the British and the Russian-backed Ethiopia simultaneously, and the last but not least, there's the United Arab Republic. Established after Egyptian independence, the UAR is the only Pan-Arabist country in the region, although this might change in the future according to their prediction. When the Sino-American split occurred, the UAR must choose between staying in American sphere or move closer towards China, and eventually they choose the latter.

FREE CITIES
A free city is a city that/or did not under the jurisdiction from another state, the example for these are Berlin and Constantinople. Berlin originally was set up by the Russians as East German capital city, the West quickly rejected this, and demanded Berlin as an exclave of West Germany. The situation worsened, and for further decreasing tension, Russia and Germany agrees to split the city between two, but never happened, and was transformed as Free City. While Constantinople was taken from Ottoman Empire in 1916, set up as a British protectorate, and later transformed as a Free City following Berlin's declaration as Free City of Berlin. Later, Constantinople is slowly turned as Greece's special dependency, and surprisingly, both Turks and Greeks present in the city is living their lives together in peace.

SITUATION IN LATE 1960'S
The absence of an absolute communist state like in our timeline (like USSR and China) does change the overall world geopolitical situation. There's no red scare, or even the fear of nuclear armageddon (except in Europe). However, proxy wars still plays a major role in this 3-way cold war between established and raising powers. Russia still funds socialist movement across the world, whilst China and the US actively promoting independence movement across the Old World, doesn't matter if they literally just installed a dictatorship in charge.

Nationalist identities suddenly became more important, there's less globalist movements. Culture of OTL 1950's are still present, along with the dreams of the atomic future. The US isolationism suddenly became less of a thing, and after it's intervention in WW2, They began to expand their sphere of influence. But they do still declare neutrality if another war broke out between the alliances of Europe. Without absolute communism, Russia would have a growing and promising population, and eventually, is able to maintain its place as one of the world's main political player. Additionally the overall Cold War is mainly political and less ideological.

There's more follow up to this map, and I also considering to re-naming the entire series. Also please consider that all map labelled ELTD before this map is now obsolete, but I'll still keep them around.

Also, special thanks to MrImperatorRoma and Wyyt for the inspiration, especially in the overall map format
