I've shot in RAW, made 3 virtual copies of the same shot in Adobe Lightroom. Then I've under-exposed one by -3EV, keep one as it is, and over-exposed one by +3EV, and exported everything in TIFF. Like this I have 3 shots to work with in Photomatix (HDR program), where I've run several tone mappings. The important thing is to tweak the variables without adding too much saturation, and keeping it still "lookable". Then I've taken the final results into GIMP, and worked it just a bit to give more dreamy effect (copies the layer, desaturate it into b&w, worked with contrast and brightness on the copied layer, blurred it and finally overlaid it with the orginal one, at 30%). That's it! Hope you find it useful answer!
