Description Long abandoned by its people, the planet spirals ever closer to its star. Its ice caps have all but evaporated, and deep gorges scar its surface - all that remains of its once vast network of massive rivers. Almost all plant and animal life that wasn’t taken in the Exile has passed away in turn. Masses of decaying life act as breeding grounds for algae and bacteria, yet even those can only last but so long. Each day brings the end nearer. Each sunrise reveals nothing but ever-greater desolation.

Man, that is teh sweetness.

I like the idea of a more utopian planet that contrasts with this one. It'd be cool if it were the new home of whoever escaped this planet, named something like Talia II.

Looks great.

Well...you're in luck! Next planet/space scene I do is going to be a collab with ~DistortedTruth and will probably be just that - a more eutopian place. It'll be part of the ~Phaera project, so its back=story won't include this planet, but still...you get the point.

Right now I'm finishing this: [link]
Then it's on to the space scene

cool stuff....if you would add some kind of drop shadow and a brighter outward glow, it might look a little more realistic...and i think you should experiment with a few lens flare effects as well...fantastic work none the less!!

how about the name "Talia"? pronounced like Tah-lea, meaning "heaven's land"- or something ...

btw, did you make the planet texture by yourself?? it's freakin "killer"...me likes...

Hey! thanks for the comment. There actually is a bit of drop-shadowing in there, but it's subtle (wanted to go for a "big-planet" effect, so the bigger it is, the less you'd be able to notice shadows, cliffs, etc)

Also, since it's so rocky and barren, I thought it should only have the remnants of an atmosphere, hence the smaller glow....and there's no direct light source so i didn't add any lens effects

BUT Talia is a beautiful name...I think I might use that when I try making a more "eutopia" type of planet (I plan to, just gotta find the time...)

And yes, the texture is 100% original... used 4 or 5 pics from my digital camera and a whole lot of manipulations Thanks again for the comment!

man that is absolutely awesome- i want to learn how to make a terrestrial texture like that- and i am flattered to know that you liked the name- hehe D....

Your work is really nice- keep it up!
