This was probably the darkest and most unstable version of Optimus. Ratchet's Ironhide's and Jazz's deaths along with the betrayal of both Hummanity and Sentinel pushed him over the edge

please, there is really no need for this. He is only making a valid point. The writers come up with a story during pre-production, and when one is created, production begins, along with directing.
