She wakes up, still groggy and dizzy. She doesn't know where she is. It was night, and it was warm, that fresh summer night breeze filled her lungs. It gave her the strength to look up and see an old barn. She stumbles and slowly opens door. She looks around at all the strange gadgetry hanging on the walls. Suddenly she stops and looks ahead.........a truck. She knows what kind of truck it is, she knows WHO it is, and all then all confusion turned to sudden awe. She slowly walks towards him, she sees the bullet holes, slash marks, and rust peeling off of him. For any other young woman, they would make a grimacing face and leave, but not her. Somehow she knew. Slowly, she touches him and gently rubs his side, like she was comforting a wounded animal. Her head rests on his side, she didn't mind that she was getting old rusty paint in her hair. She just closed her eyes and whispered............

"I know that every single word I say is meaningless right now. After everything you've been through, all you want is to hear the silence. I'm not a soldier like you, I'm nobody. And I have not a single inkling on what it's like to be in the middle of Hell's fire. But somehow.......I just know. I.....I...can't explain it. But I just know........I guess...what I'm trying to say, and I know that it's probably pointless now, but it's also long overdue since you've heard these words. I just wanted to say........thank you. Thank you, for saving us.....and I.....I'm so sorry.....I'm so, so sorry for what we have done! I-I'm so--"

And she breaks down and cries. She cries for a very long time. Not for humanity, certainly not for herself, but for him. Only him...........Little did she know that he heard her.
