Spark Comic #54 - The Grading Pyramid

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you're all having happy holidays and that 2013 holds success for us all!

This comic is just based on the anxiety and contempt people sometimes have towards other people's grades. With another term/year/semester over, students have begun to get their marks back for tests and assignments. As I learned long ago, no matter the result, there's usually somebody who will look on you unfavorbly no matter what your grades are. It's for this reason that I RARELY ever tell people what my grades are to avoid things like this. Not to say my grades have ever been something to be ashamed of; I've generally always been an A-range student and my grades rarely ever fall to or below C-Levels. Still, bragging about it doesn't help and it only gets enemies thinking about this.

Personally, I have no interest in judging people based on their marks. Even so, I will say it feels awesome when you know you got higher than the people who are blatantly determined to see you fail. I don't usually say this, but in terms of your grades on this marking Pyramid, always aim to be a Mega Asshole.

I think the guy who can't pull his pants up automatically qualifies as R for Retard...

See you next comic!

Note: R is equivalent to F. In Canada, we use R as a failing mark.

Ugh, so true. And grades are not even accurate! I met my husband in college. He's smart, easily smarter than me and he did his lab work much better, but I test well and he locks up on tests. He brought home a B or even an A on a good day, but usually it was C-F. I on the other hand maintained an A or B. The teachers were convinced I knew the work better no matter how many times we explained he was not a test taker.

This is a great idea and really takes me back (I finished compulsory school in 1999).

I'm glad that pants thing went away in the 2000s. How the hell is a gangsta suppose to get away from the cops when those fall down and trips them on their faces? And it's pretty much instant arrest with a bloody mugshot.

...And now I'm more glad I'm not in school anymore. The stuff I don't have to deal with anymore. I'm like a Dave Lister in life so I was all Bs, Cs and Ds with the occasional Fs/Rs. But I get As and Bs in art and even won awards. So I'm a mega asshole artist at least. But art was easy for me.
