I think she carved out a piece of styrafoam then covered it in paper mache. Put it on a wooden pole and used hot glue to make the vines. Then painted.

I think Oz cut the blade part out of styrafoam and used something to cover that. I don't know, you'll have to ask about that. The pole is just a wooden pole with clay around to create the "vine" look
