look at the picture then re-read.
the focus is is set to your shoulder and the white balance is so far over the top that its burning my eyes.
you've got some talent, but it's not evident here.

i completely agree with you. i've done much better than this, but apparently this is the one more people like. the flash provided for the harsh white balance, which has bothered me from the beginning.
