Description
The sun had just began to set as Kenya padded towards the beach. She smiled softly as her paws shifted the sand, but it faded when she remembered what she had on her mind.
Her mind drifted to overhearing Shor talking to Style, or rather, Style yelling at Shor. When she saw their "conversation" begin to end, she turned tail and headed away to avoid being seen.
She couldn't believe what she had heard! Why did that Style girl think she was so close to Shor? Does she not have any friends who are guys?
She shook her head and sat down on the sand to watch the sun set. She had always felt at home at the beach, and the sound of the waves and the smell of the salty air had always been able to calm her nerves.
The maned wolf mix sighed and looked out at the ocean. She didn't want Shor to lose a friend because of her. She just didn't understand why in the world that girl had hated her so much, and she hadn't even ever met her!

Shor had seen the flick of a white-tipped orange tail as his "fight" with Style broke up. He knew that Kenya had heard everything they had said, and ran off to find her. He knew exactly where to look, and found her exactly where he thought she'd be.
He watched her lay down on the sand, looking sad. She changed positions a few times, and finally settled on facing away from the ocean, keeping the setting sun out of her eyes.
Kenya pricked up her ears at the sound of clumsy paws in the shifting sand. She smiled a little hearing that big heavy tail dragging on the ground.
The orange wolf looked up to find Shor standing over her.
"Hey."
"Hey." The smile fell off of her face, and the white wolf picked up on it immediately.
"I saw you back there, I'm guessing you heard the whole thing."
She looked down, then looked up at him. "Yea, I heard it all." She looked away guiltily, ashamed for eavesdropping and frowning at remembering what she had heard.
Shor sat down in the sand, "It's not that big of a deal you know, she'll get over it. She's just like that."
Kenya looked up at him, "But I don't want her to think that we're more than friends, because that's not true, and I don't want you to lose her as a friend just because of me. That's not fair to you, you've known Style or whatever her name was a lot longer than me."
Shor chuckled. "Look, don't worry about it. You didn't do anything to her; heck, you haven't even met her yet! I'll deal with her, don't worry about it."
Kenya looked up and smiled. "If you're sure."
He rolled his eyes. "Positive. Now come on, let's get something to eat." He stood up and walked around her to leave.
Kenya didn't budge, squinting her eyes at a bush that she thought just moved a bit. She shivered, wondering who was eavesdropping on her now.
Shor draped his dragging tail over her paws. "Cold?"
"Yea..." She said, looking up at him.
His eyes met hers and they narrowed. "What? What were you looking at?"
Kenya glanced once more in the direction of the bush at the edge of the sand, and shook her head. "It's nothing, just me seeing and hearing things," she said with a laugh. "Let's get going, I'm starving!"

Kenya didn't budge, squinting her eyes at a bush that she thought just moved a bit. She shivered, wondering who was eavesdropping on her now.
Shor draped his dragging tail over her paws. "Cold?"
"Yea..." She said, looking up at him.
His eyes met hers and they narrowed. "What? What were you looking at?"
Kenya glanced once more in the direction of the bush at the edge of the sand, and shook her head. "It's nothing, just me seeing and hearing things," she said with a laugh. "Let's get going, I'm starving!"
