i don't feel there's tension. i feel there's need.
why else surrender? to the unknown?
isn't that what the darkness suggests?
and then there's the underlying courage it takes to
reach out to that darkness,...and to know that
whatever it is that you hope awaits,...may not
be there at all.
or worse,...
it might be,...
and yet doesn't reach back.
the position of the arms are awkward,...
because that's what it's like to feel uncertainty.
to want to feel, to need to feel that slight touch,...
even to imagine a soft whisper.
to believe someone is out there reaching back to you.
in the end,...that's all any of us want.
for someone to reach out to us.
when all is dark.
anyway,...that's what i see. what i feel.

i like the color/grading and lighting. what i get from this is tension more than surrender, because of the odd position of the hands. it seems like there is so much pain.
