yeah i had this marvellous idea but it turned out it wasn't quite that magnificent. some of the shots from this set had pearls nicely falling with the drool but i didn't bother to cut/paste that onto this once i realized this just "wasn't gonna make it". too bad though. i have this lip fetish as some might have noticed and different type of liquids and stuff also attract me.anyhow, this looked great in detail-side, taken with my sigma EX 105macro, which has the worst auto focus in history btw, it really looks magnificent in close inspection.
hope u like it even if it is just a scrap. i will always hold it close to my heart as all my failure ideas...err. and that's saliva if it isn't obvious, boy did i have good time sipping the pearls from a box and then letting then slip out of my mouth on to my chest and the clothes i was wearing.

I rather like this piece. My budget next week will afford a print of Sprained Minds and if this were available as a print I'd definitly buy it too as it would make a great sister piece.

upon first look it seemed like an infection and kinda grossed me out. But then I read the idea behind it, which sounds like it could have been cool if it had been captured right. nice try tho

I think this should be a deviation. I like the flow of the drool, it's looks pretty cool. And I love the use of the macro lens.

I actually like this a lot, but you shoud have added a bit more contrast to the lower half of the picture, it get's too bright.
I can see that the focus is off, but a little contrast would do it good I think.
Still, I'm amased you send this of as scrap.. hehe. Never

Maybe not the idea you wanted at first, but it is a great composition and its almost disturbing for me in some way, all the black pearls making some kind of patterns and the perfect symmetry of the water falling makes it look almost unreal... the patterns of the pearls makes me think on cells, like in the blood... (am I crazy?)

In terms of detail, you're right, it's fantastic. It's an amazing piece in my eyes, but not quite up there with the bloody needle shot - maybe it deserves to be scrap.
