i took this a loooong time ago. my initial idea didn't work out...but after some cropping and thinking about it for half a year i am happy with this version. after some staring i came to think about how she is gone now and will be forgotten. we like to cherish the idea of not forgetting someone who's dead but eventually... and i'm thinking her laying there, not existing anymore, would she want us to remember or forget? to remember i guess, yet i get this 'forget me' feeling from it, don't we want to forget horrible sights like this?... okay enough of my vivid imagination. i know it's very graphic, it's not for everyone, just move on if it doesn't make any sense to you. life doesn't make any sense...these things just keep happening.i've darkened it from the original and adjusted saturation etc., the subject itself is not manipulated. there was one light from behind her head. the outcome should match hammer beating more less. i like the darkness because it is so soft, like night. something a little different from my usual studio-style.
i used Kryolan's wax to make the ripples and stuff on the skin and different fake bloods (read more here [link] )

i believe it totally makes sense...
when u're about to die, u don't want those you love to be sad. and sometimes u say things that seem good,
but honestly, everyone wants to be remembered, as being immortal, in the end, is living in someone else's heart...
and what u would remember from those people would usually be the good souvenirs, and what u could feel for that very person.
sight of blood fades away with time...
well i also believe it would depend of the way you were grown, the country you were born in...

I love it. There's this look on her face that almost says "Remember me as I was, not like this... Go. I don't want to to watch me die." The gore is fantastic. It's as in-your-face as anything, but softer and subtler at the same time. And I adore how dark the picture is, as if there's more to the horrific defacing of the girl's corpse just waiting to meet the light of the flashlight of some teenage pop-horror victim.

Struck me as a quiet tragedy. Sometimes silence can scream volumes. Solitude can crowd the imagination. Even tho' such images disturb me, you did a great job potraying emotion from someone no longer here.

Ihan hullun makee. Tykkään kuinka suurin osa kuvasta on mustaa - antaa mielikuvitukselle tilaa: mitä kuvassa ei näy? Ja mikä on kuvan tarina? Väriskaala on mun lempparia, beigen ja ruskean välillä.. jee! Ja mitäpä muuta kuvasta sanoisi.. ööm.
Semmosta vielä että veriset yksityiskohdat on mielenkiintosesti piilossa, pimeys on ikään kuin piilottanu suurimman osan goresta, kuvaa kattoo ihaillen [johtuu varmaan että tykkään pimeästä beigestä] kunnes säpsähtää siihen faktaan että on kyyläämässä veristä naamaa.

a sharp thing. I love the eyelashes and how can you see the shadows of them. Even it´s so dark you can recongnize every part of the face and every single detail. its gorgeous. And the highlights make it perfect. good work.

this is a very successful piece.
my eyes wouldn't even see it for like two minutes in full view. my brain wouldn't let me comprehend it... like if you see a really gorey accident or whatever.
i won't say i like it, for fear of sounding likea sicko, but it is definitly well done, and i liked the awe i felt the second my confusion was lifted.

makes me think of when you see those people who've been murdered on crimewatch or the news and then a year later how the majority of people have forgotten about them.... thing is there's so many murders now... if you remembered and thought of all of them all the time you'd be permanently depressed... waiting for it to happen to yourself all the time...
