This is my entry for the Gods & Goddesses - Contest by =ellastasia (link ).UPDATE: It got the second place! Thank you very much!
These are the Moirae who are the fates in greek mythology: Clotho, the one who spun the thread of life from her distaff onto her spindle, Lachesis who measured the thread of life allotted to each person, and Atropos who cut the thread of life (Wikipedia ).
I chose to portray them as a child, a young woman and an old woman.
The child is based on myself as a child (but with darker hair and a cute nose
) and I used some photos of old people to get the old woman's wrinkles right and to get some ideas for the patterns. Aside from that I didn't use any references.WIP: here
Tools: pencils from B to 8B, eraser, pensil eraser, tortillon
Size: approx. 56 cm X 40 cm

Great work on the fates. Absolute great contrast and detailing. What I do advice you is to work with shadowplay. It is a step higher and definitly adds depth and perspective. Still, a formidable drawing!

I have to agree with everyone else on the details in this piece - they're mind blowing! Love the designs on their robes. I think Atropos stands out the most to me. You handled her wrinkles really well to give her a very ancient look. Fantastic drawing, Sis!
