Description Everyone has their own fixation, I guess, and ~sayh 's happens to be flashlights and his GPS...what is it with guys and their little electronical gadgets? Anyways, my hubby's fursona is a "panduck" (mandarin duck/red panda gryphon), and this pic is Part 1 of 2...later you get to see what my compulsion is.

Oh man this picture reminds me of my dad. He always has his GPS and some kinda flashlight. Even if we're just going out to eat he brings them! I always ask why he brings them and he says "You never know what might happen". I'm going to add this pic to my favorites!

Aww, it's like a storybook page... There's something about this that reminds me of Disney's The Rescuers Down Under, but I can't quite place what it is.

Ha, ha love it!

It's not just the guys. I am quite a technology freak too. If I had a car I'd probably have a GPS too and it's not really needed in such a small country (Switzerland)
And I love flashlights as well

Ms. Swandog,

Great drawing, I love the originality of it. XD dont be to tough on the poor guy, GPS's are the modern day compass, and just gives us that extra incentive to be adventurous *in a mildly adventerous and safe way*. Asides, he likes walkin abouts in the forest, im sure that helps keep him in shape Anywho....

*wonders off with flashlight*

This is certainly one of the most unusual gryphon combinations I've seen... And it's one that I wouldn't normally think of as a balanced creature - but you certainly made the anatomy work properly!

I used to have a flashlight like this! I loved it so much, I used to go around with it at night and I could see the glow from animals' eyes and I'd follow it and find the animal. I found mostly spiders though. I wish I still had it, I left it at work when I quit and I didn't want to go back to get it. Man, that was a cool flashlight. =^..^=

GPS is like fancy, extra soft toilet paper. You can probably do without it, but once you have used it you wonder why you went without. I guess you could say this about most things. I love this drawing. I wonder how Sayh ever came up with this concept...or was it yours? As for your compulsion, if it has anything to do with Salukis, I quiver with anticipation. So, how is that fursuit coming along? Will it be ready for FC? I have decided that I will be attending FC instead of CF. If all goes as planned, I will finally get a chance to meet you and very much looking forward to it. To back up for a moment, would you be willing to do an anthro/saluki piece for me. I think you are the only one who could pull this off. Primarily because of your passion for them and secondly; you're a phenominal artist. I was thinking along the line of an ancient egyptian theme with cleopatra (naturally)/saluki. She would be standing or laying on a plush pillow on a marble terrace with a pyramid in the background and attired in the dress a jewels of the time. What do you think?

swandog In reply to joharasaluki [2006-05-07 10:44:00 +0000 UTC]

LOL, yes, so true! XD And thanks; the concept for this drawing was invented by us both. And although I do have a deep passion for salukis, as you know, my particular compulsion (the one I plan to illustrate) doesn't involve them...but you'll see. The fursuit is still being made, but I believe the head is nearly done; I'm just waiting for Scribble to send me the pics. I hope it will be done by FC, because I really want to go! As for your request, I would very much love to draw that, but I can't take on any new commissions just now until I finish-up the current projects on my plate. *wingsnugs*

I love flashlights because I have a thing about going for walks in the forrest when is dark, and also because I grew up in a place where we had poweroutages a lot.

I love GPS's because they enable me to drive in areas I would not risk getting into. I'm even going to dare driving in Forth Worth and to east texas this summer, I would never ever do that without a GPS, since I have a horrible sense of direction. I drove to downtown Gotheborg without a problem, and was told by a local there that he never ever drove there because it's impossible to find your way around...

I have practical reasons for my obsessions

Hey, sweetness, your coming to Texas USA huh? neat ! XD Im in denver Colorad, the state above. I hope you have a blast here. XP Also, I sell countless GPS's units, and they always are accompanied by a flashlight, so tis ok. Trust me my friends, its a guy thing in general...Our sense of adventure. You are so very fortunate to be in an area with a forest, as am I! I go hiking almost every other week, and my dogs go nuts chasing the squirals ~_~ Anywho....Just wanted to add my two cents.

lats.

UGH they have a Maglight that is a regular flashlight WITH a Halogen light in it, so you can switch from one to the other, the halogen however drains the battery VERY quickly. Mark is dead set on getting one >.<

Lol Our hubby's would be like pea's in a pod!!!

Oh no...Sayh can never be told about this maglight! O_o He wouldn't rest until he had one of his own! XD He also loves MP3 players and fancy cellphones, and just got an "i-mate" PDA phone (yes, it's really named that XD) from work and it plays MP3s quite well, plus has GPS capabilities: [link]
