A most excelent image by yourself.

Simply wonderful.

Reminds me of the very old pre-Vatican II images that were found in Roman Catholic Missals / Breviaries.

Well done.

FAVED + SAVED (would like to have a larger image of this if possible)

Thank you! <3 And yes, those were my inspiration. Sadly, I don't have a larger version of this, as I haven't cut this pattern out in a long time, so this is an old, lo-res scan. If you do papercutting yourself, you are more than welcome to cut your own from this pattern.

Amazing how easy is to understand the Trinity of GOD , Lion is Father, Lamb is Son, and Dove would be the Holy spirit.

I've always loved the lion/lamb biblical symbolism, but I never would've thought that they could also represent the Trinity when combined with the dove. Unique idea, great design and craftsmanship!

Yes, I am Orthodox; are you as well? (If so, I'd be curious why you chose that particular username.) And if you'd like to use the image to make an engraving from, please feel free!

agnostic-sunday In reply to swandog [2007-07-30 11:26:46 +0000 UTC]

Nope - I'm Anglican/Episcopalian, but my religious views are about 99% Orthodox! I'm hopeful that someday our churches can re-unite....one step at a time, though, right?

The username is from some song lyrics I liked a few years ago - I really want to change it, but deviantArt won't let me Oh well.

Peace be with you!

Wow.................should I kneel and pray? However, isn't the Lion of Judas/Judahs referring to Saviour our Lord Jesus Christ?

Good religious symbolism, there. And a clean cut, most definitely. Good that when the lion and lamb touch noses they seem to become one. Kudos.

One of my fave papercuttings from you. I love the way the lion and lamb are touching nosies. How CUTE! CUTE! You've made the Trinity CUTE! ::eeeps and decides NOT to glomp-huggle the Holy Trinity, lest she be dissolved by His holiness::: 0_o
