Thanks; the crest is cut from regular parchment, and glued down onto blue fancy craft paper with bits of gold strings woven into it (not sure the brand name, as it was years ago).

That's impressive work. I've done some basic cutting for a couple posters and more then once wanted to tear the paper into little bitty pieces. Something like this would probably make me want to tear my hair out at some point. Is it a specific crest or something you came up with?

I doubt that I could muster the patience to create such fine details (hmmm... maybe I should try it some time - and probably fail )

If you do commissions, I want to pay you to do some templates for me that I can use with a little spraypaint.

paper cutting, right on! i'd like to try that sometime..(takes some good scissors i guess)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

swandog In reply to strohat [2004-09-20 06:32:40 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for all the comments, and yes, it takes tiny, very sharp scissors (those kind shaped like a stork are most often used), or an X-Acto knife, which I use.

Another fantastic image!
Did you do this one by folding it in half and cutting out one side, or did you do one side at a time?

Those unicorns are so well designed!

swandog In reply to tarkheki [2004-09-07 10:08:34 +0000 UTC]

(Sorry for the delayed reply--this message got buried deep in my inbox.) Thanks! I cut most of the image by folding it in half, leaving only the parts that were asymmetrical, then unfolded it and cut those parts.
