I've seen this car on TV and it's cool to know that you and your camera got to see it in person. It's an impressive car from all angles, but especially from the one you have chosen. It almost seems like it's trying to elbow its way into the viewer's space. Great shot!

I believe there are companies that make those tires for restoration projects. I've seen these on other brass era cars, one comes to mind is the American Underslung at the Simeone Museum.

This article explains much of why tires became black. It says they can get repro tires from several companies...

Well, I guess because of the way they oxidize, you won't see them except for certain brass era cars. I have to say they're striking when seen on an actual brass era car. The Underslung's are 40 inch wheels, and evidently helped to wear out the tires as well. Here are the two shots of the Underslung I have on DA:
