Description I especially like Maccus’s very vacant stare in frame two, he knows he has his captain now, because the captain just can’t turn down a bet. The other crew members know it too so they all chip in to make the deal unavoidable. He’s Dooooomed…..or who ever the poor lass is he has to date. *Cue freaky music*

BTW, I was going to have Crash in frame 8 say: “Dinner? I have shares in the stock market making me filthy rich...here’s some cash. I bet 20 years.”
But for some reason I figured that would only be funny if I had an extra frame for the crew to shoot him an odd look.

IDK, the flying dutchman is a spanish galleon and I think that style only goes back...14-15th century.

I would comment on all of these and fave them, but that would clutter my profile up to no end. I find it more convenient to fave the artist so I can just go to your gallery instead of going through my favorites to find a comic I want to read.

Maccus looks so happy in frame 2.

So very happy.

XD I LOVE HOW EVERYBODY PITCHES IN.
I ALSO LOVE HOW THEY ALL JUST POP INTO FRAME OUT OF NOWHERE.
That crew of fishfreaks can be very helpful when they set their minds to it. It's almost creepy how friendly they all are all of a sudden.

Hey, I did it. It ended up being a pretty awesome image of Cthulhu, not to mention the best darn coffee cup I've ever drawn.

On an entirely unrelated note, that coffee cup would have to be the size of the sun for Cthulhu to wrap around it like that-- without crushing it to it's very molecules.

Do you have any advice on backgrounds without a computer? or with publisher?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Swashbookler In reply to Sajer [2008-07-28 18:00:42 +0000 UTC]

It took me a very long time to find a person who could explain the rules of back grounds to me. Here is what they said:
The further back things get, the bluer, the greyer, and the lighter they get with less contrast. Also I started making my backgrounds in photoshop so they wouldn't have dark lines from the pen, they destract less if everything isn't outlined. You can see that in my more recent back grounds, in the old ones you can see I did them by hand not digitally and they are very distracting. On the Gypsy part of Davy's Day Off that was the wort case scenario of back grounds I ever had, they were too dark, too detailed, and were outlined.

Sajer In reply to Swashbookler [2008-07-29 18:43:36 +0000 UTC]

hmm... is there anyway to do that blurred effect on publisher do you think? I will explore it tonight when I get off work and if I find anything I will let you know.
Do you think watercolor in the background only would look okay? and then have the prismacolor for the characters/important objects?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Swashbookler In reply to Sajer [2008-07-29 20:06:02 +0000 UTC]

Publisher doesn't edit photo's like that, it's more for positioning things. Water color would be excellent for the back ground cause it would be softer and less detailed and would create a very nice effect. If you have any photo editing programs like the ones that come with digital cameras you just might be able to use those for blurring if you can find the effect.

My moms digi has that kind of program I think I still havent uploaded it yet on my computer. I really should. I think for the first page of the pact I will just use watercolor, most likley and if its easyer for me that way then then I will do it that way but the photo would be so much faster...

Saturdays, Fridays, Thursdays and every other wendsday. I work next wendsday, 7am-7pm. Probably the best time to get me is on a Thursday. My week ends fill up quick unless you ask for it in advance. Right now all next week is open except for friday.
