I finished this at 2am (depression makes me productive), so didn't really care about quality. Ah, well. I do rather like the non-sequitur look of it, though.

Not that Him and Lizzy were a bad couple and I love Lizzy so it's not that either. I just think she needed someone with a little less on their schedule and with the ability to wait on her hand and foot. You know, let her sit with the silver spoon in her mouth. Nigel just isn't the person that can do that for her.
Although Nigel is very supportive, loyal and caring (and as you said he's not the romantic date type) and I think that better fits Rachel than Lizzy.
But that's just my own opinion.

Ha ha, this is awesome. And most definetly true. Sure Lizzie's a little annoying, but it was still a cute pairing, I can't believe all the hate she gets ;( awesome work, though.

One of the bigger problems I have with the later seasons is that Nigel is made too important. Suddenly he's the nephew of the KND's greatest enemy, the son of the KND's greatest operative and the first female operative, and the prime candidate to be sent off to space to possibly eradicate adulthood itself? I'm sorry, but we call this in the writing world a Mary Sue.
I mostly write Nigel as a paranoid schizophrenic. He always comes to the worst-case scenario, he doesn't seem to follow the wavelength of everyone around him, and he's always suspicious of anyone that's not in the KND. I also like to have him be wrong on occasions, like how he was in the earlier episodes. One of the problems I have with the series is that Nigel's harebrained theories suddenly are made right too often. Compare his antagonization of teens in Operation POINT to that of Operation SUPPORT. Besides, having him be wrong adds to the drama.

Yeah, I had trouble with Nigel portrayal in the later seasons too, especially in OP:INTERVIEWS.
But I dealt with it by personally considering that so-called 'finale' completely non-canon, and had my own ideas of how the show should've ended and I usually ignore the large amount of spotlight he was given, beleiving he and his team should equally be considered important and equally taking into account as the heroes of the storyline.
That I guess is the main reason why I've lately been writing OP:ROGUE other KND fanfics.

I never heard of the "Nigel has fire powers" theory. I would think that those powers were fueled by hatred and/or evil since only Grandfather and Father had them. So wouldn't Nigel have to be a bad guy to access them?
