TA DA! My piece is finally done.

I worked like really hard on this piece, like all day. It really came out better then I thought it would. XD

"Singing"
"Talking"

The sun was shining brightly over the peaceful valley, warming the fur of the playful Barbaloots and the glistening over the crystal clear water. It caused the Truffula trees to sway ever so slightly in the breeze causing the light scent of butterfly milk to waft through the air.

The soft harmonious song of the humming fish reached his ears as the subtle wind shifted his bangs. Leaving his eyes closed he soaked in the peacefulness that seemed to ooze out of every inch of this place.

Opening his deep blue eyes, he smiled watching the Swamee Swans fly so gracefully across the sky. His fingers lightly strummed across the strings of his guitar and let the sound disappear into the wind.

He listened to the sounds around him again before striking another chord. The song of the fish paused momentarily as the sound of guitar floated throughout the air.

His fingers lightly strummed again, hitting more chords picking up on the sounds his guitar made and the animals noises around him. A smile found his lips again as he softly started humming.

His attention shifted as a few Barbaloots approached him, while some Swamee Swans landed near him. Then as he kept strumming, the Barbaloots started dancing as the Swans started doing a light warbling sound.

Finding his rhythm again, he got more into it his smile getting bigger.

"This is great, can't you see
How harmonious we can be.
If we do it like this together
Ain't no song we can't master.
Humming fish you do your hum,
I will match you as I strum."

He closed his eyes as his fingers moved across his guitar as the humming fish sang their bars. Nodding his head to the beat he laughed as he tapped his feet.

"It's amazing how I didn't see,
How much fun this could be.
Humming and dancing,
Singing and prancing!"

He stood to his feet, he just couldn't sit still. The music got into him as he kept on playing the sound of the animals keeping him tune. He started bopping to the beat, swinging his hips and moving his feet.

"Come on Barbaloots,
I've seen you move in those suits.
Swamee Swans now don't be shy
Raise those voices high!
As high as you fly in the sky!"

The Swamee Swans raise their warble and he slammed a note on his guitar and a sudden "Quack" got his attention. The little Swamee duckling found it's way on his shoulder.

"There you go little guy,
Find you're voice then you can fly!"

Coming up behind the commotion the Lorax found the Beanpole dancing again with the animals in toe. His voice raising with the tempo of his guitar and the Swamee Swans. Shaking his head he walked up behind the a tree and watch with mild amusement as the animals went back into a chorus of noise.

"Ya know this place would be a lot more harmonious without that guitar."

Once-ler struck a few chords that sounded sour. He turned his head slowly with a brow raised. Strumming his guitar again, he hit a few loud notes before going into a soft slow strums.

"Uh-Oh, here it comes.
The Lorax brings with him no funs."

"No funs? That doesn't even make sense?"

Ignoring him the Once-ler struck his chords again, as the fish started singing again and the Swammee Swans slow after them.

You can't win here, can't you see
They would rather sing with me.
Then sit and listen to the wind.
Do you get the message I'm trying to send?"

"I know what you're doing Beanpole and it ain't gonna work."

Pushing himself off the stone he took two long strides and stood right next to the green eyed Lorax.

It won't work you say,
Have you not heard us today?
We sing a song of joy and glee
Won't join them and me?"

"I don't like your songs, I don't like your sounds, and I absolutely don't like that raucous guitar. So get out of my face, and please do go far..." He paused a moment before he realized. "Con-flabbit, you got me speaking in rhyme."

A chuckles escaped Once-ler's lips as he kept playing, the animals gathered around them both, the humming fish pressing against the Lorax as they hummed, the Swammee Swans leaning toward him as as they sang.

Come on ya know ya wanna!
Give in, it won't hurt ya!"

Once-ler sang in an Elvis like fashion. He stopped strumming as and everything seemed to pause, waiting. The Lorax's green eyes gazed at all the eager eyes, passing a glare at the man in front of him who had the smuggest look on his face. He groaned as he realized that he hated how he couldn't hate him.

" All right fine you've got me beat!
I'll sing with you, but don't expect me to tap my feet."

"That's all right, as long as you sing.
We'll sing and wave hand, fin, paw and wing!"

You know you can't sing a lick,
Listening to you makes me sick."

I don't matter what you say!
I'm gonna do it anyway!"

"So sing to your hearts content.
But that guitar I more then resent."

"So you say,
I'm still playing at the end of the day."

You're determined I'll give you that
You also pull off that hat."

A laugh escaped Once-ler's lips and had to stop playing. The Lorax looked at him curiously.

"What'd I say that was so funny?"

"Oh nothing...just that comment about my hat...that was random."

"Eh, don't put to much stock into it, I was just trying to finish my rhyme."

"Uh-huh sure you were." Once-ler smirked as the Lorax huffed off.

"Don't go to far Mustache! Pancakes tomorrow morning!"

He heard a discernible reply and he shook his head. Looking at the duckling on his shoulder.

"Yeah he likes me."

"Quack!"
