Description I’m taking a class in theater design this semester, and one of our projects was to design costumes for three different productions of Medea: one in historically-accurate costume, one in a different time period, and one “conceptual” design.

These are my designs for Jason, Medea’s fair-weather husband. I chose 1880s England for my alternate time period (with Medea as an unlawful Hindu wife), and my concept was a very bad, showy Medea, with the actors wearing wigs, masks and full body makeup, which Medea finally breaks through by “actually” killing the children.

(Also, Victorian Jason has an Order of the Golden Fleece LOLOLOLOL I am so sorry.)
