Clea descended upon the human, and she was gentle with her words, even as her body language explained how little nonsense she would stand for.

"You are judging the hive, but you are not looking at it. You are an individual- we are an individual, and more. Why would you want to be alone? Do you think it safeguards what you are, who you think yourself to be? Is the silence really so comforting that you feel protected?"

The human girl shuddered, though the temperature beneath the surface was plenty warm enough to keep her frail skin from shivering. "I'm afraid," she said, "of not having a mind of my own anymore."

"No, you're afraid that your mind will be known, that you will have no secrets anymore."

"How do you deal with it?"

"I wouldn't even know how to begin to answer that. Secrets are a uniquely human construct. I understand them so little that the idea of having them frightens me- I imagine as much as the idea of having none frightens you."

Don't ask about the dialogue- I don't know either. ^_~ This was actually somewhat inspired by a lionfish, which I saw and thought "eh, why not?" This didn't take a long time- and was mostly just for fun.
