One time at college, I can't remember why but we started talking about bronies for some reason? And one person asked "what's a brony?" (this guy was about ten years onder than the rest of us btw - he also didn't know what a meme was). And before anyone else replied, this one girl said "a brony is a guy who wants to f*** a horse." And I remember thinking "How the hell do you go from "men who like MLP" to "weirdos that want to do the nasty with a horse"?" I know there are some bronies who are into some weirder stuff, but... it's no where near all of them.
