Aaaaaaand my Kuro OC Kitty again.

This is the second time she meets Will and Grell. She clearly shows sympathy for both of them, but it´s still too early to talk about some kind of friendly relationship.

Also, she reveals what she thinks about Grell´s gender issue.

”As soon as Kitty returned to the General Affairs Department, she was surrounded by her co-workers who asked her all sorts of questions.

“Come on”, they said, “were you really thinking we would not notice how excited you were? Your first job in the Collections Department! How did it go? Who did you meet?”

She made it back to her desk, sat down, and while she was preparing the files she was going to classify for the rest of the morning, she replied:

“Well, it was not as special as I thought it would be, though it was a very nice experience. They were all very friendly to me. Mister Spears came in a bit late, as he had a different appointment before, so I got to chat a little with them.”

“And? Who was there?”

She sighed. “Ronald Knox was there –“ she could hear a few giggles coming from a group of ladies standing at the windows – “and Mister Sutcliff.”

“Sutcliff?” someone exclaimed. “I´ve heard he was weird. Some even say he´s a freak.”

“Yeah, wanting to be a woman and such. I think he´s just too shy to openly admit he´s gay, so he´s putting up that ´I´m so desperate because I cannot be a woman´ -charade.”

“Didn´t he ask you to call him Miss Sutcliff?”

“We…didn´t talk long enough to reach that point of the conversation”, Kitty began, shocked. “Besides, I think he´s serious about this. Have you ever tried to put yourself in his position? Having to live in a body you know you do not belong in, but unable to change anything about it?” She rose and took her butterfly-patterned mug from her desk in order to get some coffee. She looked at her co-workers and shook her head. “Frankly, I always thought you were open-minded young women. I can´t believe how downright intolerant and disrespectful some of you are.”

She did not speak much with the others for the rest of the day, although she noticed that they were giving her looks and were talking about her behind her back. It did not matter to her; even if they considered her a “weirdo” now as well, she had no intention in changing her point of view in regards to Grell Sutcliff. He had been nice and friendly to her, that was the essential. His gender was unimportant to her.

Kitty took a rather long lunch break and worked a few hours overtime later, as she wanted to finish earlier the following day. It was already dark when she left the building, She did not want to go home yet, and as she had her favourite book with her, she decided she could leave the Reaper´s Realm for a few hours to visit her preferred London park. She had a nice dinner in a small cheap restaurant and was glad to find her special place in the park unoccupied. It was a nice bench placed near a lamp post, so she had enough light to read despite the fact that it was dark. The bench was surrounded by some trees and hedges so she was relatively isolated from curious views. If there were any people going for walks, they would probably not notice her at all if she remained silent.

She sat down, and after a while she lay half on the bench and was totally absorbed by the story she was reading. She could not recall how long she remained like this until she heard loud heels walking over the ground. She looked up and saw a familiar redhead peeking through the hedges.

“Ha! See Will? I was right! I knew I had sensed another Reaper in here.”

Grell Sutcliff walked up to her bench, and now she could see that he was in company of William T. Spears.

“Good evening”, the latter one spoke, adjusting his glasses. “Miss…Maguire, if I recall right?”

“Yes”, Kitty replied. “Good evening, Mister Spears; Mister Sutcliff. Are you taking an evening walk?”

“Awww, how much I´d loved it was one”, Grell sighed, “we´re here to work. Some late reapings came in. Buuuut – “ he looked at Spears, smiled widely and leaned his head against the tall man´s shoulder – “we could go for a walk together as soon as we´re finished. Wouldn´t that be romantic? You and I, under the moonlight ~”

Spears sighed, looking rather annoyed. “That is out of the question. I judge it would be best if we both return home and get some rest later, as there will be a considerable amount of paperwork waiting for us tomorrow morning.”

“Oh, so cold…”, Sutcliff complained, still holding on to Spears.

“We will have to leave now”, Spears said, focusing again on Kitty. “Please make sure not to stay too long here; we can never know what creatures lurk here in the dark.”

“I will return home soon enough”, she replied smiling. “Have a nice evening!”

“Au revoir! ~”, Grell piped, waving at her as they went on. The last thing Kitty could hear was Sutcliff saying:

“I have to ask her where she buys her clothes…that frilly waistcoat is adorable!”
