don't ask artists for free art unless they have a journal which says that they do requests /free art.
otherwise it is pretty offensive and some people will get mad at you

Well its like, you know, the big TV series, cartons, MLP to, have Character designs! So they are needed.
Lets say you are an Artist, artists often own Characters, to drawn them, they also often represent them with their Characters, so they can draw the character sad when the person is sad, some do this.
Also some people cant draw and buy a character and buy other drawings of this character, so they can look at them, Comissions give you a warm feeling around ur heart.
A character is basically something you OWN, someONE you can give a personality and a lifestory.

Sure, but those adoptables are ... premade, they are all set already, and not very personal.
I'm used to commissions. People describe a certain design and you go for it.
They get what they want.
Adoptables already have a certain design. You draw 20 OCs and the customer can pick from it?
For me, as an artist, I can't understand that people can't think of the design themselves.
but I guess it makes sense. Not everyone knows what they want, and they need some examples, a variation they can pick from. I guess it makes sense.
It still feels shady to me. I could make 100 OCs a week and sell them. Feels unmoral.

Well everyone feels different about everything, I love designing but I never fall in love with my designs as much as I did with my OC when I first saw him, I really wanted him, he just spoke to me, I dont know why, I just wanted him, so I bought him, this was over one year ago now and I still love him haha <3
Well there are different ways how auctions work
You normally set a starting price you want, and a autobuy, the price you want to sell it highest for, that means if a person autobuys, the auction is closed and you get that amount of cash, the autobuy is normally a high price

There are also people who steal Character from Tv Series haha
