Description This wallpaper comes from a discussion I had with my friends at the Facebook group PULP HEROES. The topic was who would you get now to star in a DOC SAVAGE movie. After throwing around names we arrived at our fan cast:

Alex Skarsgard as Doc Savage
Jude Law as Ham
Michael Chiklis as Monk
Adam Baldwin as Renny
David Tennant as Long Tom
Matt Smith as Johnny
and Ronda Rousey as Pat Savage

This was one of my more complex wallpapers. In addition to the seven shots of actors I used in the casting, I also made a world map look like it was from the old world and superimposed the title over it. I also brought in a shot of New York in the 30's and textured it to look cool. Finally I recolored the whole thing, then labeled the characters and added a tagline. ENJOY!!

Made with Photoshop Elements 8. Here's hoping we can see this movie for real!

Thank you very much. Funny thing, most of the comments I've gotten on this are about how I have two Dr. WHOs in the cast!

Your thoughts on my choice of Doc?

Very interesting choice. A lot of people would bitch because he wouldn't be the ΓΌber-muscular Doc that James Bama inserted into the popular consciousness. But Alexander SkarsgΓ₯rd actually looks quite a lot like the Doc on the old magazine covers. He'd have to bulk up a little bit – not a lot – and I think he'd carry it off really well. I like it!

Yeah I don't think he'd need to bulk up that much. I think of Doc as athletically muscular, he should be able to move fast and look strong at the same time. If they can get Chris Hemsworth to bulk up enough to play Thor then I'm sure they can chisel Skarsgard into the mold of the Man of Bronze. In the past I actually think the perfect Doc would have been Dolph Lundgren circa 1988-1990. Too bad he had to get worn out from the Hollywood lifestyle.

Now there's an idea for you, a Dolph Lundgren circa 1988-90 DOC SAVAGE poster.

LOL! I picked them to play a master Electrician (Tennant) and Archeologist (Smith). Savage is Science Pulp Hero from the 1930's, a precursor to Superman no less.

i could see it, except for (sadly) the two Doctor Who actors being in the movie at the same time. They'd be perfect for the roles, but for some strange reason you never see two Whos in the same project (save for Doctor Who specials).

Who'd the villain be?? Some new face to introduce newbies to Doc and Co. or someone like John Sunlight??

We were thinking of Michael Fassbender as John Sunlight. What do you think of that idea?

SXGodzilla In reply to SWFan1977 [2012-08-01 17:40:25 +0000 UTC]

hmmm... not bad. There's been so many different takes on Sunlight over the years, so it's hard to kinda gauge such things. XD

But Fassbender is an accomplished actor.

Another actor I would consider for the role would be Hugo Weaving (MATRIX, LOTR).

One more possibility for John Sunlight would be Mark Strong.

all really depends on what approach to Sunlight is deemed the best. And that depends on what approach is taken with Doc Savage.

For a more physical rival, I'd probably go with Mark Strong.

For a more evil genius type, I'd go with Hugo Weaving.

And for something in between... Fassbender.

I was thinking more of an intellectual rival to Doc. For a more physical battle I was thinking of having Ray Stevenson (PUNISHER: WAR ZONE) as the main henchmen of Sunlight to fight Doc.
