I felt bad about being hard on you before, but, boy am I tempted to say some choice words in this case.

The hell are you doing man? Stop it. Stop taking the piss and start drawing like a big boy again.

I'm sick of the empty comments on your art, too, where people say some random crap to avoid the elephant in the room.

Git back to being GUD you self scrubbyfying scrub and stop disappointing me. I've looked up to you before, now I worry if you've got a brain tumor or something.

Seriously, are you alright? Do you have some troubles? I mean I can't really help if you do, but if this is a cry for help then I am all ears.

If I ever see a shitty face like that from you ever again then I'm deleting your internet. Faces should be one of your specialties.

YUCK.

I'm also deleting the internet of whoever told you this is your style, this includes any weird psychological entity that might be haunting you.

Man, I think you are trying way too much to push this style as if it's a marketing brand... It doesn't work that way though. Style comes naturally, as your brain combining your liked elements from your entire visual library. It's ok to explore new things to expand your library with things you haven't seen or never existed, but as you push it more, you end up having something that it might not make that much sense. I respect you more than anyone, so I won't just say 'OMG SO GUD', as this is clearly not up to your name. You have became and amazing artist and a fantastic tutor. You can still 'get better' as an artist, as we never stop learning, but maybe it would be a better idea to stop pushing this 'style' thing so intentionally, because this ends up stopping being a style. Much love.

I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with him experimenting with pushing his style in his art. I think the general direction his aiming for could yield great results. Check out Tan Zhi Hui’s art. He is one of my favourite artists, and his shapes are extremely exaggerated and stylised, and has a ‘sharpness’ in them, similar to Sycra’s stuff. I think he’s someone who kept pushing his style to the extreme, and succeeded at it. I hope Sycra can achieve the same one day, if he keeps experimenting while honing his fundamentals.

mmh. I still think it comes naturally to him. The main difference from other artists is that he thinks about the style in a conscious way sometimes. But i think he just wants to be certain that he goes in a direction and not just drawing and waiting for something to magically happen. Because the truth is, if you watch or read about a lot of artists. a lot of them do this. Look at modern manga. The OneShot of "my hero academia" or "nisekoi" look VERY different in style from what the manga looks like after its being published. The Artists get advice from the Editors to push the style towards a certain appeal that attracts their audience the most. I agree that natural style comes by itself after a while. But a great style has to be developed with thought and work. And for the part of calling it "Sycrafied" why not? You and I know well hes not calling it from a cocky perspective. I think he just likes the term. Im also not someone who calls him a god artist and critique him wherever i see fit but i think you have some wrong points and wanted to point them out to you. Peace.

I never thought of him as being cocky. And I disagree that 'it comes naturally to him'. He has said multiple times (if not in every Pointy Chins video) that he is pushing it on purpose, trying to Sycrafy every line and every shape. On purpose, consciously, constantly. Again, it's good to explore the unexplored, but to force it just for the sake of being different is not really that beneficial to him and his otherwise impecable skills. You can't always explore and find diamonds. You mostly find dirt and mud. In addition, you shouldn't be comparing non animated art with animations such as in TV shows or movies. Remember, they made Mickey Mouse with less fingers because it was easier and faster to animate, not because it was cooler. Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, and most mainstream anime series, use simplified shapes and shading style, because it's ridiculously time consuming to animate frame-by-frame a realistic drawing. So still-art and animated-art styles are completely different for a reason.

i am not talking about anime though. I am talking about the original mangas. Look it up, they change their style rapidly from the One Shots. And i dont think they change it so it fits in an anime. I am just trying to say, we dont know how other pros actually work on their style. I just made that observation that some of them try to push their style just like sycra does. I just cant tell how exactly they do it because they don't talk about that stuff.
