I got a request from a friend to somehow combine My Little Pony and the game Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! and this is what I came up with. Every level of ouendan has a short manga-like segment, so I thought I'd go the extra mile and add a story.So when I thought "What could they have just attempted to get to this point?" I thought of another rhythm game I love on the DS, Rhythm Heaven. Specifically the game "DJ School," and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic just happens to have a beloved DJ pony.
Seriously, kudos if you understand and/or played both DS games. Both are among the best the DS library has to offer.

Oh God... I just came across Ouendan, and I am LOVING THIS comic. (though I have yet to come across Rhythm Heaven). Especially when the actual game screen, the costume and the Applejack background!
This comic led me to think of this idea... Why not make a compilation of the Mane Six Episodes in Ouendan fashion, with each member having a impossible problem to tackle (Hint: Pinkie and the Baby Cakes, Twilight and her endless Friendship Reports, Rainbow Dash succeeding in being selected for the WonderBolts, and so on...) and for the CMC or any three pony cheerleading cheering them on. Each situation will have its success and failures... But that detail is for much later.
Sadly, I need to brush up my art ability, so I can't start yet, but just an idea swirling in my head.

I was thrown off because of what she says but the lyrics say "It's rainy day" or "it's my shiny day" but then
Yaida Hitomi's engrish is kinda harsh that you think she's saying "It's my lucky day". *nodnod*

Haha, it's true, I've never seen the lyrics and just kinda went with what I heard. I don't even know what the song is called, except for what I call it: "That song with the tough girl." I also like "That song with the choir singers" and "That song with the sumo wrestler."

"Go My Way" by Hitomi Yaida. The Sumo Wrestler one (Okuru Kotoba by FLOW which is by the way based on an OLD ancient Japanese poem turned song) but I understand where you are coming from. I kinda hope to see more Ouendan pony stuff XD

As soon as I came up with the story, I knew I wanted Applejack with angry eyes bucking through a tree as the top screen. In rough sketches she bucked so hard the tree was completely broken in two.

Rhythm Heaven, a game that's simply a large collection of rhythm-based minigames. The minigame referenced is one of the more memorable ones, DJ School. When the DJ signaled, you tap and hold down your stylus. When he says "Scratch-o! HEY!" you flick the stylus to scratch the record. (He says "scratch-o" because the American version retains the DJ teacher's Japanese voice.) [link]
