I think Neonatal Progeroid Syndrome best describes his condition.

Thank you for such a wonderful compliment I appreciate it greatly. I wish DA's watermark wasn't right smack in the middle of his face though :/
I am not a super huge fan of Susan Kay, myself having 20 years of research under my belt for the historical background of Leroux's Novel and transition problems with the original English version translated by de Mattos. I mostly go off of the original French Leroux novel descriptions.Β
You might want to check out my site sometime. It's been on the net since the 90's but sadly I had to get rid of my .com 2 years ago and am slowly moving the content to its now permanent location at phantomstheater.weebly.com . Now that I am moved, however, I will have sometimes to try and get the rest of it transferred. There is some good stuff up though currently.

Now I'm curios - what was your research, and where do you think Susan Kay went wrong?
I didn't do much fact checking, but she seemed to be okay on Haussmann and the Franco-Prussian war. I've got to say, I've seen so many anachronisms and "let's just paste some 20th century characters into the past" in historical novels that I develped at least a little resiliance; otherwise I couldn't read historical novels at all. (Except, glory be, Tom Holt.)

Very ghotic and very beautiful. I thought it was a photo which you manipulated or something but it seems you draw/paint everything yourself, wow.Β
Btw since I remember you where such a phantom nerd (lol), probably much more then myself I read something of a true story behind phantom for sometime ago and that there actully WAS a deformedΒ man (genius) that worked at the opera named Eric (I think) that did exist in reality. Only that it wasen't really like the book and all whit him hiding in the sewers. He was employed by the man in charge of the opera becuse he find himelf impressed by Erics many talents. Though they couldn't find any information about this "Christine" Β so nobody really knows who she was. The changy seems to have existed to but aint sure if they had that much to do whit "Christine" or Β the phantom. Kinda freaky to think of anyhow. Right me if I am wrong. If you feel like it of course. I am just curius to know more.

This is one of the few truly realistic renderings of Erik out there--I always try to express to people what he truly looks like, rather than letting them have the sugar-coated Hollywood version of him. Maybe that's selfish of me, but I feel it's necessary in order to fully appreciate the character. Love him as he is, or be repulsed like the rest. But please, don't defame him by altering his deformity to make him easier to look at. Thank you for being faithful to the original, your work is amazing.

Thank you very much. I fully agree. Most of my Erik art expresses that. I do believe, correct that I know for a fact Erik lived and I show him as much respect as humanly possible. It might help that I know a real life person who had a very similar life to Erik's. You might enjoy this as well [link]
