A drawing I did back in 1997.This is Michael Crawford as Phantom from ALW's POTO. Mixed with my grandpa's face. But inspired none the same.
I finally got a decent scan of him. This drawing's eyes have been known to fallow you around the room. Don't believe me just ask my friends. I once changed the wall he hung on thinking he'd look better on the wall over my bed and I could not sleep a wink. I felt unsafe fighting with my self that this was ridiculous i finally got up in the middle of the night around 4 am to put him back on the original wall. The wall he was on originally just happen to be covering a old inter com system which now stood as a gaping hole. i bring my drawing every where i movie now and I feel quite safe with him hanging in my house. I believe some time we put our spirit into out drawings some how this one has a life of it's own.

Hello Sylent, I assume you are also the creator of The Phantom's Theatre website. I was directed here by a very nice lady at Barnes and nobles who left me a note in one of the phantom books I ordered. Tina? Perhaps you know her? I don't know... This is a brilliant picture! Yes I'm am the creator of Phantom's Theater. I mostly know people on the net by their nick names so I probably would not recognize her real name, but that was very nice of her to send you to my web site. I hope you enjoy it. I'm glad you like my art too

the eyes... *yeek* They do follow you.
Gary Mauer at the performance I saw was pretty impressive too. Moreso than Crawford, in my opinion. Or perhaps it's just that I've only heard while I've seen AND heard Mauer. Unno. I love the character, no matter who plays him.

This is a really great drawing, I really like the abnormality of his lips. I saw this book, where they had close up well-lighted pictures of the make-up they put on Mr. Crawford and it looked spectacular. I really have this love for they way he's portrayed in the play more than the movie, in the movie you wouldnt be able to tell anything was wrong with him... but oh well. So goes the magic of Hollywood.
