Banshees are a medium sized dragon (6 feet tall, 40 feet long) found primarily near the hot springs and lakes of Draakenor. These lazy omnivores spend most of their days lounging on rocks and bathing in the water, with the occasional break for napping. Their primary food source is the unique form of algae that quickly builds up around the various hot springs throughout the region, which they use their large teeth to scrape off the rocks. Of course, they won't turn down the odd fish or small animal that wanders too close to their near-immobile forms. But no dragon would be complete without some sort of trick up its sleeve. Enter the Banshee's roar (or more appropriately, scream), a devastatingly loud shriek that can shatter eardrums at its lowest, and can cause a powerful sonic blast at its highest. If this somehow fails to stop an aggressor, the Banshee can also use its long, thin tail to strike and whip enemies, slicing through the flesh of less-armored foes. Anything that gets past that will cause the Banshee to retreat into the nearest body of water.

Due to their fairly sedentary lifestyle, most Banshees are not an immediate threat to human life, and are thus considered a low-risk species.
