Description "Why doth thou try to impede this perfection? Doth thou wish to see the world suffer?"

From a young age, Alexandria was told she'd be destined for greatness. "She's going to change the world," they'd say. So she vowed that when she became Queen, she would change the world and for the better.

But nothing could truly prepare her for being a queen. While her charismatic nature and benevolent and caring attitude endeared her to a people who have long since faced many a cruel leader, her "the people first" mantra made her an enemy of those in power. What Alexandria thought would be as simple as giving the people what they needed, she quickly learned that it was a complex balancing act of pleasing the common folk and pleasing the elite. While to the outside world, it seemed the Queen had absolute power, in reality her desires were at the whim of cruel men and women who wished to secure their own power and wealth above all else.

They'd often vote to block her decrees, as was their right, and this she couldn't argue. But how they'd often go behind her back to reverse or undo her changes made her blood boil. Worst of all, she could never tell who to trust outside a select few people, which included the baroness Bairythia. The two of them together were more than powerful and influential enough to make many beneficial changes to the kingdom, but they were always looking over their shoulders as political rivals and hidden agendas threatened to topple everything they'd created together.

Beyond that was the generally chaotic, oft unpredictable nature of humanity. This many people in one place, with so many different views...It always eventually lead to gruesome crimes and never-ending squabbles. No matter how hard she tried, no matter what policies she enforced and no matter what sort of guard she created, Alexandria could never keep everything under control. The chaos, violence and constant backstabbing began to wear down on her, breaking her resolve. While she had indeed bettered the city, she promised to change the world, and for all her efforts she hadn't even begun to better humanity as a whole.

After a particularly bad breakdown, she began to rule more carelessly, falling into a routine of pleasing only those in power in an effort to allay their tempers. Shortly after this however, Alexandria's trusted ally Bairythia came to her after having a revelation. She claimed that, in the night, a goddess came to her with a solution. They had to obtain a mysterious book locked away deep within the Archives and perform a ritual within it. However, the ritual was dangerous and extracted a great cost; magic needed to be eradicated from the city. The Queen disagreed vehemently. She and Bairythia had spent many years further bettering the lives of magic users, and for what? To simply remove all that good will and begin the Witch Hunts anew?

However, as Bairythia continued to argue, the Queen's temptations grew. After all, if you sacrificed some for the good of many, it would be a fair trade. Beyond that, she would finally be able to change more than the city; she could change the world. Thus, in her broken minded state, she agreed. At first she simply tried to evict magic users from the city, but of course this failed. They began to riot, as this was their home and this sudden change in character was unacceptable. Thus, more drastic measure needed to be taken.

The events that followed brought the the great city of New Alexandria into chaos, as magic users were declared as traitors to the Throne. The full might of the Alexandrian army reserves were unleashed into the city to hunt down any and all magic users. Any who failed to take her offer and ally with her were put the sword and executed. As much as it pained her, and as much as she hoped most of them would flee the city, she knew that this was bigger than any one of them. She then acquired the book, and made her way to the Pinnacle where she began the ritual.

And it was a success. She watched, awestruck, as a great rift opened in the sky before her at the edge of the tower. Suddenly, a great surge of energy blasted through her body and cascaded throughout the city. The cacophony below her grew silent as the energy spread through the city. The Queen watched in silence, waiting for any sound, but none came. It worked! The ritual had brought peace to her city, and in time, to the world! she turned to the rift, lifting her arms in praise. Now, she need only wait!

Finally, we reach our unfortunately lost and deluded Queen and the main antagonist of the story. After everything you've undoubtably been through up to this point, you should be suitably prepared for this final (?) challenge of the game. While a difficult boss, Queen Alexandria isn't actually really among the absolute toughest on her own. She functions pretty standardly for a humanoid boss opponent, mixing minor magic augmented strikes with elegant blows and combos.

Once you defeat her, your choices through the story come into play and affect which ending you get...

She is encountered in the Pinnacle
