"How would you feel if a bunch of apes with guns came and burnt down your home?"

The Therax are an incredibly intelligent species, and have mastered hunting on their jungle planet. The Therax hold a deep hatred for humans, who came to their planet and ravaged a good portion of their jungle for resources.

Silent and deadly, the Therax stalk the tree-tops, or jungle ground, in search of prey that cannot outrun them. Their "feelers" sense even the most minute of vibrations in the air, and can track them without halt. And when they reach their prey, they can rend them with their large claws or makeshift weapons, and defend against their attacks with a carapace as hard as diamond. And when all else fails, an ear-splitting screech allows them to safely retreat while their foes are disoriented.

NOTES: Was worried when I started this one. Originally, I envisioned the Therax as orange, but that didn't really strike me as appropriate for a pseudo-stealth based humanoid insect. So instead I opted for brown with some green for camouflage with the trees. Turns out it worked. Gotta say, those eyes are some of my favorite coloring "tricks" I've done yet.
