"lurking"You never know what's lurking beneath the water 😉 I love the look of a pond covered in waterlilies. Recently i found some photos shot from underwater and that looked amazing to. That combined with my desire to create a crocodile inspired fresh water mermaid, ended up in this painting. Initially i also wanted to give her some croc eyes but that didn't work out. So i'll safe that idea for an other day.

Absolutely love her cowered pose so that she fits beneath the surface. And I totally agree, there is something strangely enchanting about the most commonplace pond when it is covered with waterlilies.
