Description Series: -Danger, Deceit-: An Avatar: the Last Airbender Post-War Fic

Name: 心爱 (Priya*) [प्रिय - Beloved] of 段家族 (Tuan Clan)
Age: 19
Affiliation: Fire Nation, of the Noble House of Tuan
Service: Fire Nation Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Staff Assistant, secretary (Northern Continental Region)
Ability: Earthbending, based on firebending forms

The Tuan clan is composed of two main branches: in the Fire Nation homeland, they have considerable influence in the Ministries of the Interior and Foreign Affairs; the Continental branch, in the last years of Azulon’s rule, took up administration and governorship of northern Earth Kingdom territories and implemented some of the most draconian occupation measures in the war’s history.

Priya's father is the Minister of Education and Examinations (Interior) and though he hails from the Continental branch of the clan, Priya was schooled at the Royal Fire Nation Academy for Girls in the capital. She placed in the top ten in the national civil service exam at age 17, and was expected to enter service in the Ministry of Ceremonies, but elected to take a position in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

She is an earthbender, an ability she has kept mostly under the radar for much of her life; because she had to adapt her own training to the firebending-based curricula of her schooling, her style is not geared toward massive movements of earth (she has trouble moving rocks bigger than a large melon ), but more targeted flinging of stones like missiles. While self-study in earthbending forms from books has helped her, Priya hopes that her job will take one day her to the Continent so that she can learn from a proper earthbending instructor.

Priya is widely rumored to be a bastard child from an affair on either her mother or father's part; no one is certain, but that doesn't stop the gossip.

*Hindu name - because it's pretty (and I'm shallow).

It's frustrating and I'm an emotional mess. And no, no word. I sent in a hard copy of my resume, three references and three letters of recommendation (overkill, maybe) last week, so we'll see. I need to email and inquire after it, but I don't know how to word it.

Eeek... sorry to hear that. As for the e-mail, do you have any idea where to direct it? Maybe if you called the school, they could tell you who's in charge of hiring, and the way you can contact them. That way, you at least know their job description and where they are on the totem pole. (Did the application have specific instructions as to how to apply, and whether or not the school would contact upon receipt?)

I feel your pain - I've been on hold for a job I applied for in NOVEMBER because of the way the human resources department works (at least I was able to call and have someone check to say that yes, they did get the application).

Yeah, I know who to direct it to. The ad specifically asked for the resume and cover letter to be emailed, and they didn't give a phone number for calling (though it's easy enough to find on the website) and it's the Dean of Academic Affairs, so I feel like he's fairly high on the totem pole. I'm leery about calling because they didn't give out the phone number, but I'm probably going to be emailing and asking about it either tomorrow or Friday. No information about if the school would contact upon receipt, which isn't surprising.

Ugh, that's just nuts. I wish they wouldn't leave us all hanging like that. It's just evil and it doesn't do a thing about for our stress levels. >.< Good luck to you!
