I think the crude jagged quality makes it a wonderful piece.

I guess, it looks a little different in person.

It's clear that this piece of wood knew exactly what it wanted to be and you did a fantastic job of listening. Love it!

Thanks, it looks a little different in person. Everything I snap a picture of is a little overexposed. I should get a bevel or wood carving tools the next time. It is hard to carve with drills. Thanks again, and have a Happy Halloween. We might get nailed by a hurricane here. xD

I think it looks great, artists are always so hard on them selves. The edges are ragged but fits nicely. You have a Happy Halloween as well, yeah They're calling it Frankenstorm. We get Fires here. Had a huge one last year, almost had to grab the cats and flee.

Yeah, those fires can be deadly. I just got power back today. We are currently in the middle of a noreaster. There is snow outside in early November. XD At least I still have a roof- which is more than some people have around here.
It looks different in the long shadows here, but I cut everything out with a drill. I wanted a folk art look to it- besides I can't carve wood anyway. Hopefully I can work on the new masks now.

Thank you. I did break 2 drill bits on this one. So I might indeed need a better tool XD. Happy Halloween.

Yeah, pumpkins are from the new world, but Jack O' Lanterns are from Ireland (though I am sure all peoples probably had lanterns with designs). The irish used a dried out turnip and put a piece of peet coal in it. You should wikipedia Jack O Lanterns. The story is pretty cool. Your son would like the story. I would send a link, but he doesn't know the english.
That hollow post I actually found on a beach as drift wood. I love rural or as we say rustic looking objects. I liked your pictures on that wooden surface. Wood has such character when it ages. You could make a lantern like this for Walpurgisnacht- but you have to keep your eyes on it. It can catch fire easily.
Tell me if you read the story of the Jack O 'Lantern.

I haven't found anything in German yet, so I guess we'll just listen to the free audiobooks.
I have started to listen to the thriller that I talked about last time (the coroner who gives instructions to a girl how to perform an autopsy - geez, this is so disgusting ...)

I just read a Washington Irving (Sleepy Hollow author) short story. He apparently liked German ghost stories, and he wrote one of his own.

I won't sleep a second tonight. I'm almost done with the thriller. Disgusting, but good.
I wish I could concentrate better listening to audiobooks on the computer.
