heehee I would have thought that purple would be a darker color than orange, so I tried to make Simon's hair darker? I dunno. I probably should have just drawn/colored that part normally and then edited it into sepia on photoshop but I was lazy so I guessed on it and did it by eye. CX

Well, this had occurred a looong time ago in the timeline of my nuzlocke. like it would be something school children there would read in their history books. but...at the time some people had a choice as to which pokemon they were to be merged with.

now, though, when a gijinka and a gijinka breed, their offspring comes out a gijinka as well, depending on the species of the parents, just like in the game.

So the children would come out like their parents, right?
So why the parents, when they had a choice, didn't choose some really awsome pokemon?
I mean, who would like to be mixed with a Magikarp? that would blow!

the parents don't both necessarily have to be the gijinka. like...you know how in the pokemon games you can breed two pokemon of the same egg type and get an egg of at least one of those two? yeah it works like that...but with actual birth instead of y'know...an egg. heh

and with the magikarp analogy...well for one thing, evolution is still a thing in this world. don't ask me how...first tell me how evolution works in the pokemon game and then we can talk about how it works in my world. XDD but in any case...evolution is still a thing so, if the parents were gyarados, which is a cool pokemon, their offspring would still be Magikarp, y'know?

also, in my history blurb I mentioned that a lot of people were merging themselves with pokemon at the time. which created a lot of dangerous people. now, if you were lets say a poor farmer who lives in an area where there aren't a lot of "really cool" pokemon in the area, and couldn't afford to go off and travel to find a "really cool" or "really strong" one, but you have a band of people who could breathe fire, or conjure up water around you, who are threatening homes and people, wouldn't you merge yourself with lets say...a pidgey? or a rattata? to have at least that little protection, rather than trying to just go about it on your own against people with basically super powers? I mean if you honestly can't afford to go off looking for a "really cool" pokemon, or especially can't leave your family behind or something like that, then you're sort of stuck with what's available to you in the area. y'know? it's not quite like the game where you can choose ANY POKEMON IMAGINABLE, I see it like in real life...with like a lower class especially, you have to work with what you have available to you in the area, and what you can afford, and just try your best to protect yourself and your family. plus, some people's perception of a "cool" pokemon might be different from yours. like in soul silver, how joey keeps bragging about how awesome his rattata is? even though they're pretty underloved in fandom?

still, we're talking like descendants in the time frame of present time in this comic. so these guys here in my comic thus far were all born this way, with gijinka parents and everything. I don't know EXACTLY how long ago this whole merging event took place, but it was long enough that the current population doesn't really think about things like "I wish my grandma didn't have to merge with a stupid zubat and now we're all zubat for forever" or something.

XD it doesn't really bother me, although I feel like you're investing yourself into the backstory a lot more than I am. heeheehee.
since I mostly came up with it just as an excuse to do a gijinka nuzlocke. C=
