I'm pretty sure its fathers day on the 4th of Sept and I was on the ball with it this year, so I finally made something in advance and not late.
My dad likes hunting so yeah, drew a stag. I was going to draw a portrait of the top pig hunting dog but wanted to draw an animal I haven't before/much. CX (not that I draw canine much anyway...)
Why is it with all my stuff I make they start off looking crap and me wanting to chuck them out? I managed to salvage it with coloured pencils.
Predominantly water colored paints, colouring pencils for some detail. A4 :]
yes i fail at backgrounds still T_T

Oi, thought you said you couldn't paint with watercolours? I'm not sure it was you that said that, I could be mistaken because THIS is very well painted.

Well, can't dissagree with you wanting to improve. I want to improve at them myself. Infact, it's a good sign. (I see too many people who're completely content with their current level bawbawbaw)

This is gorgeous, the way you've done his hair (fur?), and the shading is superb. I love the background as well, the swirly sort of style gives a really magical atmosphere

Also.. I'd love to give a critique but I don't think I'm exactly qualified. I do, however, like the imagery of the clouds swirling behind the stag. Kinda gives a sense of deep though/mysticism (in my opinion). I really like it ^_^
