An entry for PokemonDaily 's contest. Idea shortly: take a fairy tale/myth/legend and incorporate Pokémon into it.So.
Phantom of the Opera...starred by lunar duo Darkrai & Cresselia. Because if there must be a crossover between PotO and Pokémon, I can't find any other ones (even humans) to fit this thing... Sparkling rubber duck Cresselia is definitely good Swedish soprano.
...Floating candles are actually new pokémon Hitomoshi/Litwick (fire ghost)...I don't really like them but I thought they fit well to this pokémon theme so why not...
Liner, black ink, white ink, colour pencils, copics.

I dont know how many people actually know the real stories behind PotO, but i literally grew up watching the 2004 remake of it. When i saw this i just died. Now to figure out who's the stupid Raoul... (personally I hate Christine and Raoul because they're total butts. And same with Madam Giry and Meg in Love Never Dies. Like seriously THE POOR GUY HAD HIS FACE SHREDDED BECAUSE HIS MOM TRIED TO ABORT HIM WITH A HANGER (the only way to do it back in the early 1800's) DONT BE A JERK TO HIM YOU BUTTS.)

In the original film/book, Erik's mother was a prostitute who was living in a 'ho-house' and got pregnant. The only way she could continue living there and making money was to not be pregnant. Because of that, she would constantly wear corsets to hid the pregnancy. Once it got to the point where she couldn't hide it, she went to a witch doctor [their version of a house nurse/house maid] and asked her to help with the abortion. It was painful but it didn't work. The nurse freaked out and said that the child had a purpose in the world and that G-d wouldn't allow the child to die. Then when the mother had her child, her plan was to get rid of him as soon as possible. Once she gave birth, she went to throw him in the sewers. On her way there, she fell in love with him but had not seen the scar that had formed on his face [I think his skull also deformed] so when she saw it, she freaked out and fainted, dropping Erik into the river that went into the underground sewers [kind of like that one pokemon anime episode in Sinnoh I think where there were all the Walord blocking the ships because the baby Wailmer got trapped] an older man who had a similar deformation found him and raised him and taught him music and other stuff. Realizing he was very smart, he told Erik to try to find his own place in the world. When he left, he got caught by a circus, then Madam Giry found him and hid him in the opera house. And the rest is easy to find.
When applied to a pokemon like Darkrai who gets so much hate because he's the 'Nightmare' Pokémon [don't get me wrong I freaking hate the one in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon explorers of time/darkness/sky], it actually fits very well. With Christine, the girl who was seen as a prodigy for her singing and dancing and because her father was a world renound violinist, it fits Cresselia very well as the Pokémon seen to help people and have a pretty voice.
I could go more in depth with why this is actually a really accurate piece, but I'd probably just annoy you after a while of rambling xD

I like the concept, and the story behind the "Phantom of the Opera" is interesting (read the summary of the book and two movies on Wikipedia), but just one question...can the Phantom get the Swedish soprano and be a tragic hero, since I like the concept of Erik as a tragic hero and the second movie I read about had the Phantom (not Erik, though) save the soprano singer from a falling chandelier and gets impaled for his troubles. I at least want to see Darkrai as Erik actually live and marrying Cresselia as the Swedish soprano.

I love the colors! And the lighting gives off a good idea of how they're alone in the dark somewhere. The softly glowing Litwick were good choices, I like that they aren't lighting up the whole background. Finally, Darkrai and Cresselia are the perfect duo for this crossover. Even if Cresselia looks a little funny in this.

Now this is an awesome concept. I really love it, both for my love of Pokemon and my love of the Phantom of the Opera. You don't see this every day like you see stupid ponies invading all other fanbases. I absolutely love it and brilliant work!

as a Phantom of the Opera (book AND musical) and Pokemon fan, I LOVE this
Darkrai is my favourite classic horror monster (Erik the Phantom) and it has Litwick (the litwick line are my fave non-legendary fire type of all time)
Cresselia makes a neat Christine
