What you need to do is make a deep hole (deep enough so they can't jump out and the explosion won't destroy the game) Then 2 blocks down the whole put TNT there, then put gravel (or sand) and a trigger plate on top of it (so it looks like a normal path with a trigger plate). The TNT will activate from the trigger plate and fall causing the gravel (or sand) to fall with it.
