Oh gosh, lots, any that I can shade good with, 2B, 4B, Graphite, woodless grapite 4B, many more. and even combos.

Many people like to use many types of pencils and that's not a bad thing, but I think two types of pencils are more than enough.

Perhaps one of the strangest-looking dinosaurs we've found yet, but it's weirdly awesome. An excellent rendition!

Indeed. There are many weird dinosaurs but this one is one of the weirdest.

Thank you!

Nicely done! The collar on the neck looks familiar - is it from a species of pigeon? Pheasant?

T-PEKC In reply to Sphenacodon [2008-11-25 11:29:48 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!

It's based on the collar of Pheasant. I think that birds like pheasant and peacock are very good choice if a paleoartist is looking for ideas about the coloration of some of these strange bird-like dinosaurs.

Ah, I knew I had seen it somewhere. Ground-dwelling birds are good models for dinos, I agree.

Incredible piece of work! Very detailed, and I especially like it that you used different poses for the head.

Thank you!

Thanks to your work (and Dinomaniac's skeletal drawing) I got a good idea about Epidexipteryx's skull so it wasn't very hard to draw the head in different poses.
