Really good, yet there's something which doesn't look quite right, IMHO... Maybe it's the slightly too gracile ankles, or maybe i'm just tired and i see things!

I was waiting for your restoration, and you did not disappoint! I freakin' LOVE this dinosaur! Oh, and Lythronax in JP and all that.

I also get the sense that the head might be a little too big, but it could be a perspective thing. In any case, the detail in this one is particularly good - I like the really clear distinction between naked skin (on the body) and legitimate scales on the face.

Thank you for the thoughtful comment, Emily!
The head may be too big indeed, but I think part of the problem is in the neck instead. It's kind of too long. I tried to follow head proportions of Hartman's skeletal drawing, which has bigger head proportionally, than Atuchin official reconstructions. Of course the perspective is a major problem for me, and you may be on the right track here.
I pay extra attention on textures, and try to improve them through the series. So far the results are variable. But with this drawing, I'm proud of the texturing, and detail.

Reminds me of a McLoughlin illustration.

Yes, most probably it is, but not much.

Nice! One of the best yet! Which tyrannosaur is next? Bistahieversor? Dryptosaurus?

Thanks!
Dryptosaurus is not tyrannosaurid, but tyrannosauroid, thus it's not part of the series. If you browse through my gallery though, you will see that I've already drawn Dryptosaurus. Just check it out.
The next one is Bistahieversor. The artwork is done, but it will be uploaded in about 12 hours.

Oh, I thought you were doing tyrannosauroids too. But yeah, I'll definately check out your old one. Can't wait for the Bistahieversor!

Thanks, I see what you mean about the head, but I don't what to say... at first I thought it was normal, and I'm still inclined to this. Maybe the neck is tad longer than it should, thus messing up proportions. I must notice though that there is quite a difference in animal proportions between Hartman's skeletal drawing and Atuchin's reconstructions. Hartman's work shows an animal with proportionally bigger head than that of Atuchin. Mine is indeed a bit off, but still close to Hartman's reconstruction, IMO.
As for your rendition I can only say: Do it! ... Do it! ... DO IT! ... NOW!

Thank you for your explanation. Now, I do see the proportional differences between
Atuchin's and Hartman's depictions.
Speaking of my version, I still have to do a complete one but you already can see a portrait
of the new genus in my portrait series: shinreddear.deviantart.com/artβ¦

Awesome. I love the texture, especially on the head. Interesting how it doesn't have scales like what I normally see.

Thank you!
I'm trying to make my dinosaurs different, yet still following the paleontological evidence. Glad to know I succed.

Thank you, man! The head was a challenge, and I'm quite happy with it. Unfortunately, as I see from other comments, the head is not as good proportionally as it should be.
