Description I hope Applejack gets an episode that rectifies her stance as Best Pony soon. It's getting annoying having to glance over her and make the other ponies instead.

HEY, THERE'S ONLY SIX CHAOS EMERALDS HERE.

Sonic the Hedgehog (C) SEGA/Sonic Team, My Little Pony (C) Hasbro

Sonic was the embodiment of the 7th Chaos Emerald and Element of Harmony, back in this old version of the crossover.

Sonic takes on a psuedo Super form with the Elements of Harmony, yes!

lol. I had a similar idea for a Super State, known as the Harmonius state, despite not seeing the show. There, I now gave you a name for the psuedo-Super form right there.

Already had it planned so he would be known as the Element of Unity and Order while in that form, but I guess that's always a good alternate name!

Even though I am not a MLP fan I actually like this style especially with the pallet you have here as well as the face structure. Classic and Modern both look great as well for both Sonic and MLP. The Sonic styled Rainbow Dash is actually pretty goddamn awesome.

Fuck you Tom. You're making me want to watch this.

Well, I think you should give it a shot! If you're really all that worked up about the fact it's not always got a big epic story, you can just watch the two-episode long stories at the start of both seasons which focus on much grander stories.

Select episodes like Dragonshy are pretty awesome, too. Rainbow Dash kicks a dragon square in the face, and Fluttershy then verbally beats it down.

I'd rather have the Majora's Mask moon over my head than force Freaky Twilight and her naughhtttyyyyy face on people.

DON'T HOLD ME TO THAT.

Yeah, but that was just resizing screenshots of a model. These are meant to be entirely new sprites from the ground up.

SilverSugar In reply to t0ms0nic [2012-05-15 23:21:38 +0000 UTC]

You may want to nix the screenshots. It's okay to use them as a reference for yourself, but as we discussed actually putting them up breaks the rules. Cue broken record scratch. *shifty eyes* Where's DJ Pon3 when you need her?

Other than that, I had a question on this. What are you making these models for? Are you trying to create your own hybrid Sonic-Pony type game? I think that would be pretty neat. I've looked at a few games that people are trying to make, one was based off a battle system, another was based off of Phoenix Wright. I am most excited for the latter. However, having a speed based flying game collecting items or such as RD would be cool. Or as any other character for that matter, any could work depending on the level in question...

Oh right, forgot all about this one in particular. Was so sure when I was working on these that I would actually finish it and be rid of the refferences, but... yeah, that didn't turn out well. Guess I'll make them vamoose!

I have absolutely no plans for making a game myself (can't commit to my one-shot sprites half the time, let alone anything that big), so these sprites aren't really being used for anything and were more just being made to get the idea of a crossover between the two franchises out there. Which in this case is a style that's friendly to both the Sonic and FiM art styles, taking stylistic choices of both (proportions, shading, colours; the works) to find a middle point for the both of them to be displayed comfortably alongside each other. It was also a testing ground for the Mane 6 to get Sonic-style designs, as my crossover idea featured them in that design frame when they appear on Sonic's world. And semi-vice-versa for Sonic and friends on Equestria, where they became normal animals that couldn't talk.

Reflecting on a possible game idea to use something like these in, I'm actually fairly clueless as to how a 2D pony game would work out, especially Rainbow Dash. I certainly can't imagine her in a situation like Colgate for the fan-made Pony Platforming Game (www.dragon-mango.com/ponygame/colgate.htm), weilding a giant toothbrush in a slow-paced RPG-platforming mix. Hell, I think she would be more suited to something on the scale of 3D, like the trademark flying gameplay of Starfox... no clue about any of the other Mane 6, though. They could each easily have their own type of game, considering how varied they all are.

Also, hell yes to that Phoenix Wright-style fangame in the works. It looks really promising! I -love- the Ace Attorney games and am joined at the hip with all the people demanding Investigations 2 and the upcoming Ace Attorney 5 to be released outside Japan, so seeing the really diverse and deep characters of FiM put in that kind of engaging environment and gameplay really hits a sweet spot for me. URGH, HASBRO, HIRE THESE PEOPLE TO MAKE OFFICIAL GAMES FOR YOU THAT GENERATE MONEY.

Yeah, I have ninja eyes for such things. Haven't delved too deep into your gallery yet. I do like the pony pieces you have though. If I had a stronger concept for my FiM OC I'd ask for an art-trade type thing, but meh.

Well, even if you weren't the one making it per say, I'm sure someone would be more than willing to buy the design rights if you came up with something more concrete. I always fancied myself something of a story-writer for such things, maybe we could find a programer? Although if I were going to be involved with a game I'd want it to be an original project, I had a really good plot for an RPG borrowing elements from Furcadia and The World...with a story line similar to Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss. I even found someone who'd be willing to create music and stuff, if I can recall them. Wait...no, bad Risa, no plotting! *kicks self*

I know right! I hope they have a demo up soon. It's gonna' rule.

Oh gosh, I hardly think my sprites are worth an art trade, especially going by even the quality of your sketch work! If this refference ([link] ) of your OC (unless you mean an entirely different character) is entirely correct though, then I'd certainly love to give spriting them a try as part of the large set of pony sprites I've been building up a collection of recently. Really don't think such a puny thing would warrant an art trade with the other side being so talented!

Oh, I fancy myself a story writer as well! While I love spriting and jotting down random ideas for using the Sonic franchise in different ways, I also put aside time to work on two of my own story ideas. One of them is inspired by the idea of the steampunk genre, with the Victorians vision of future technology powered by steam simply amazing me with how much grander we would be if our technology at least had a bit more of a wicked edge to it, instead of the fairly dull and sensible nature of technology these days. Streamlined? Efficent? Friendly colours? Pah, not nearly as cool and eye grabbing! Even your everyday clock being replaced by something like this ([link] ) would be a start to the world being more awesome! I can even picture the kind of music for it in my head, being a really stylistic mix between sweet jazz (www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wInHktd7hU) and industrial/mechanical (www.youtube.com/watch?v=CItwEW72CZQ & [link] )... almost makes me wish I actually had the talent to create such things or breathe life into them. Alas!

A demo better happen! Fan projects tend to hit the ceiling before they even get to the demo stage (especially true within the Sonic fangame community, surprise big not), so something at this point to show us it's still going and will be amazing would be great.

Well, I'm still not a hundred percent sure of her cutie mark or anything, but if you really wouldn't mind... I'd love to see SilverSugar pony. Hehe. Ooh...or if you'd like more of a challenge, I'd always fancied seeing my character Enigma in sprite form. She's a humanoid shape though, but you might have more fun with her. I dunno. I could think of a whole list of them to make it worth at least a sketchy trade. That said, I really should finish a commission I've got on my plate first.

Anyways... I keep hearing about Steampunk... The idea is really cool--and I've seen some amazing things in that genre, but I don't know (or care) enough about the Victorian era to get into it for myself yet. It did give me an idea, at least based on the name. If I could sew better and learn to walk in hoof-heels... I want to create Ponypunk. *dreamy eyes* I can see myself as an awesome SilverSugary-pony-girl.

Ah, back to gaming though! I've been playing around with Ren'Py visual novel maker... I have so many ideas in my head. I can't wait until I can work out the programing. It's hard to learn from their tutorial so I may have to enlist some help or at least study from a forum, but...at least I have my dream coming alive. Slowly. Molassesy.

(I'll check out those links later. Don't have time at the moment.)

I doubt that one'll die out. I think the fandom would eat them, to be honest. Well, that and I got the impression that they had a lot of love for it themselves. That helps as a motivator. God it'd be great though if they could get it picked up. As it is, they are in one of those dangerous grey areas. I'm hopeful though.
